School District of Howards Grove
Parent & Guardian Newsletter May 2024
Update from the Superintendent
Greetings Parents & Guardians-
Today we celebrated the official groundbreaking for the new middle school. Members of the Board, administration, student representatives from all 3 schools, PRA & CD Smith, along with our business sponsors: National Exchange Bank, Cleveland State Bank, Kohler Credit Union, and Parker Johns, all joined in the celebration signifying the start of this momentous occasion in Howards Grove.
Today officially marks the beginning of an exciting journey toward the creation of a state-of-the-art educational facility that will shape the future of our community for generations to come. This groundbreaking celebration symbolizes not just the construction of a building, but the birth of a new era of learning, innovation, and growth.
A sincere thank you again to our community and the Board of Education for supporting our schools and voting YES to build this new school for our students and staff. Today several 3rd grade students spoke at the groundbreaking celebration, as they will be the first class to start their middle school career in the new building in the fall of 2025. Their excitement for a new innovative learning environment is contagious.
An official press release with all of the pictures taken at today's event will be coming out soon. The picture below shows 4 of our Northview 3rd grade students who participated in today's groundbreaking celebration.
Today was yet another GREAT day to be a Howards Grove Tiger!
Sincerely,
Shannon Kilton
Superintendent
