Hello, all,

I hope you had a wonderful break! I counted last night and we have less than 40 days of school left. Today I saw a 2nd grade student and thought, "Wow. She's gotten so tall is looking like a 3rd grader." And that's what happens- so much good learning and skills solidify at the end of year. And we have a lot of fun, too. Thank you for being consistent in sending your students to school and spending time reading each day. Every day is important!

• Speaking of reading- the Read-a-Thon starts next week! Please read more below. We will have some fun incentives to encourage reading for the coming month.
• Again, lots of ways to help out with Pandamonium, our carnival, in including raffle baskets. Please see all the details below!

Goveland's PTO Meeting is April 17, from 6:30-7:45pm in the library or on GoogleMeet.

Principal Lightner will give an update on next year including the budget. PTO will give some important updates including progress on the outdoor classroom and Pandamonium and holding elections for the 24-25 PTO Exec Team.

Calling all bookworms! The annual Groveland Park Elementary Readathon starts next Monday, April 22! Read books, log your minutes, have some fun, and earn a few cool prizes.

Information went home before spring break You can log in at www.readafun.com and track time spent with a favorite book! In this fundraiser, 80% of funds raised go directly to support the students, teachers, and the Groveland Park community!

Groveland students’ favorite event is just around the corner, and we need your help!

There are plenty of ways to get involved…

• Trinkets & Stuffed Animal Donations – One of the most popular events at the carnival is the Animal Adoption. If you have any clean, gently used, or new stuffed animals that you want out of your house, please consider donating them. We are also looking for new or gently used trinkets, birthday party favors, and small prizes so please look in those junk drawers, toy bins and closets! Donations may be dropped off at the school office.

• Raffle - Each grade will be contributing to raffle baskets through their classroom. See upcoming notes regarding how and what you can donate.

• Volunteers - Day of volunteers are needed. Click here to sign up to for a volunteer shift on May 17.

We are also looking for middle, high school, and college volunteers. Please contact ashleyafleming@gmail.com if you know any students that would like to help.

• Cake Walk Donations - Pandamonium will include the ever popular cake walk. Please consider donating homemade or purchased baked goods for this game. Click here to bring a baked good on May 17.

• Financial donations/sponsorships - we are looking for financial donations and sponsorships to help cover the costs of the event. see sample request here

• Planning Meeting & Work Session - Join us Monday, April 29th 6:30pm in the library to finalize plans and work on necessary preparations. (Child Care not provided)

As you can see, we need a lot of help to make this a great event. Please consider helping in any way you can.
