Patriot's Pointe
Greetings Patriot Families,
I hope everyone has enjoyed some much needed time off to create meaningful memories with friends and family during the Thanksgiving Holiday. I am so thankful for each of you and it is an honor and privilege to be a part of this amazing school community! A special thank you is extended to our amazing PTSO who sponsored a delicious Thanksgiving feast for our faculty and staff prior to leaving for the break.
We have two full weeks left in the Fall semester before we begin our final exams. Our final exam exemption procedures and final exam schedule is featured below for your review. Please review our attendance guidelines carefully and mark your calendars for the deadlines by which students can declare their decisions regarding exam exemptions.
Our Drama students put on a fantastic show in the annual Lip-Sync battle before we left for the break. Student performances included features by Bruno Mars, Beyonce, and Erykah Badu! Additionally, our Chorus engaged in a feeder pattern collaboration concert with Flat Rock Middle School and sang to a standing room only crowd in the Patriot Hall auditorium!
Congratulations are in order to Coach Smiley and our Varsity Football Team. They fought hard in the cold but came up short against the well-rested LaGrange Football team. We are appreciative of our fans who came out all season to support and we look forward to an even better season next year! We have a busy week at The Creek as our Winter sports gear up in earnest. This week you can see our JV and Varsity basketball teams at home on Thursday and Friday against McDonough, LaGrange, and Langston Hughes High Schools. Our Wresting Team will match up against Jonesboro and Whitewater High Schools and our Varsity Swim Team will compete against Adairsville on Saturday.
We are excited to support our students in their academic endeavors while providing them with a Competitive Advantage!

Fall Semester Exam Exemptions
Students can only have 5 or less unexcused absences to remain eligible for exam exemptions based on attendance. Attendance Matters!
Final Exam FAQs
What if a student needs to take an exam on a different day?
Ms. Oliver, our school principal, must approve deviations from the exam schedule and make-up exams. Students are not allowed to take exams before exam week. Variations are usually only authorized if you are sick.
Can a student leave after finishing an exam?
Parents should have completed the Exam Exemption Form via Infinite Campus between December 11th - 13th. If they approve, you may arrive or leave ONLY during the transition between exams. If a parent did not complete the Exam Exemption Form in Infinite Campus or if parents did not approve early leave, parents will need to check out students at the front office.
What happens if a student doesn't show up for an exam?
- The student will receive a “MISSING,” a zero. The student’s counselor will contact the student to reschedule, but if the student does not complete the exam during the week of December 17th, the student will receive an “INCOMPLETE.”
Math Lab Free Peer Tutoring
The math lab will now be open during study hall on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Please tell students to request a pass to 226 if they need tutoring. I'm also attaching something you can post if you'd like.

Free College Essay Help with Notable Narratives!
About Notable Narratives:
NN is a 501 (c)(3) college essay service organization that provides completely free college essay editing services to first generation and/or low income (FGLI) high school seniors applying to college. We do this by pairing college applicants with FGLI college students, as having an advisor that comes from a similar background will allow students to feel more comfortable receiving help
Since our founding in August 2020:
Our 90 FGLI college advisors have assisted over 1,750 students from 102 unique countries and all 50 states.
1 in 4 students who filled out our annual survey were accepted into an Ivy League or Stanford University.
94% of our students were BIPOC, and 50% identified as both first-generation and low-income.
We encourage you to read more about our impact through our Impact Report, website, and Instagram. We are excited to help even more students this year!
Next Steps:
Attached is a Registration Form for you to share with your students. NN’s services are available to those who self-identify as low income and/or first generation; students do not need to identify as both to apply. I will also be sending this resource to the SCHS counselors.

Parent Square
The Campus Parent portal is your source for student and family records, including household and individual contact information, attendance, school-based fees, academic planning (high school), forms, and report cards. The Parent portal also provides access to the GaDOE SLDS Portal. Please set up the parent Infinite Campus account first. The same username will be shared with Schoology to set up your parent account in Schoology. Because each login reflects the person associated with the username, it is recommended that a separate account is created for each parent.
- Usernames can be comprised of letters, numbers, the underscore, and dash.
- Please refrain from creating a username that is all numbers, as that will interfere with student data here in our district.
- After completing the setup of your parent portal account, please allow 24 hours for your new account information to be sent to Schoology before attempting to log into your Schoology parent account.
