Principal's Message
Greetings Washington Families,
Welcome to this week’s edition of The Washington Weekly! This week, we have important reminders about carpool safety and a special treat—a fun video showcasing all the creative and hands-on learning our students have been enjoying in their electives so far.
Don’t forget—today is the last day to share your feedback from Open House. We value your input, and as a thank you, THREE participants will win VIP parking for our next family night, and ONE lucky winner will receive a $25 gift card once the survey closes. We want to hear from you!
Looking ahead, make sure to save the date for the PTA's Fall Picnic & Carnival on Friday, October 18, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. There will be games, food, and fun for the whole family, so you won’t want to miss it!
Let's make it a great week at 1000 Fayetteville Street!
Magically,
Catie Burnette
Principal

Meet Ms. DeVoto!
Bio: I was born in Winston Salem, NC. While attending Appalachian University I received two degrees. My first degree was in Child Psychology and second was in Elementary Education. I began teaching in 1995. I taught middle school math and science for ten years in Morganton, NC before moving to Raleigh. In 2004, I began teaching math and science at Washington. I adore Washington because of the diversity and acceptance of others in our population. I wanted to be a teacher to make school fun and engaging. My classroom is often hands-on and loud. The best thing about teaching is watching the students grow and learn. When I am not at school I love to be outside! I love animals and have two dogs and two cats. My husband and I have two children who both attended Washington!
