Middleton Update
November 21, 2024
Dear Middleton Families,
Today marks the end of our first trimester. Somehow we are already 1/3 of the way through the school year! Tomorrow, teachers will work on completing student progress reports. You will receive these progress reports via email on December 6th.
Enjoy Thanksgiving Break! I listened in to a kindergarten class this morning as they shared and recorded the things they are thankful for. Enjoy reading the list if you can see the imagine included. I'm sure all of your lists are similar. :) Happy Thanksgiving.
Enjoy your break!

Toy & Gift Drive
Thank you to everyone who grabbed a gift tag! ALL 80 TAGS WERE taken! THANK YOU so much for your kindness and generosity. For those who grabbed a tag, please return all gifts to Middleton unwrapped with the tag securely attached by December 6th.

Suggested items include: toys, gift cards, blankets, athletic apparel, water bottles, etc. We will happily accept your donations!

Holiday Shopping Experience
Do you need help getting presents under the tree for your family this year? If so, Sherwood School District SHARE Center can help. Click HERE for more information. Call or email Amy (English) or Ursula (Spanish) to set up an appointment.
Holiday Cards
As the holiday season approaches we're looking to fill our office with festive cheer and we would love your help! If you have a family Holiday card you would like to share, send them in with your student and we will hang them in our office to brighten up our space.
November Highlights at Middleton!
Chess Club
Almost 100 students and a significant number of volunteers fill our gym floor every Friday morning to learn how to play chess or improve their chess game. It's incredible to see the massive pile of backpacks and number of chess mats spread out across the floor each Friday morning.
Bingo Night
Last Friday was our first ever Bingo Night and it was a smashing success! At the last minute we even had to pull out extra tables and chairs. Kids went home with great prizes, everyone enjoyed nachos and candy, our PAC raised a bit of money, but most importantly, our kids and families had a blast together.
Field Trips
This month, our Kindergarteners visited the pumpkin patch. Our fourth graders got to see the play The Lightning Thief at Sherwood High School, and our third graders went to OMSI just this week. The money we raise through our Fun Run pays for all of these incredible experiences.
Annual Notice for State Testing
Oregon is committed to preparing every learner with academic knowledge and skills necessary for success beyond high school. The opt out form will be provided at least 30 days prior to the start of testing. Testing will be in the spring. Specific testing windows will be shared at a later date.
