Good evening STMS Families,

Happy Super Bowl Sunday to those that enjoy all festivities that come along with the Super Bowl. This Tuesday, February, 13 progress reports will be available for parents to view in the Parent Portal. A paper copy of progress reports will not go home to families. Should you need assistance viewing progress reports, please review the resources for parents within the newsletter. This week our students will report to school on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Our faculty will participate in professional development Thursday and Friday is a teacher workday. Students will not return to school until Tuesday, February 20.

Finally, I would like to congratulate our Winter sports teams on an amazing season. Our 8th grade girls basketball team fought hard until the very end as they competed against Dutchman Creek for the 8th grade conference title. Our 8th boys basketball team was victorious as they defeated Dutchman Creek in a convincing victory. I look forward to seeing everyone on Monday. Let’s have a great week.

Saluda Trail Middle School will participate in this year's FaceBook live event on Feb. 13 for the Arts in Basic Curriculum Institute. We are an Arts in Basic Curriculum Institute site and part if this is being able to serve our students through a grant provided by ABC, the SC Arts Commission and partial funding through the National Endowment for the Arts. The event will run from 8am - 4pm. Saluda Trail's video will be featured at 2 pm. Please go to the Arts in Basic Currculum Institute's FaceBook page and like our video! Thank you for your support!

STMS Battle of the Books competed against 12 other schools in the regional matches at Dutchman Creek on Thursday! Schools from Clover, Fort Mill, and Rock Hill participated. Congratulations to our team members for all of their hard work this year! Keep Reading!

• The Woot-Woot Cart is a cart that rolls out once a month where ALL 85+ STMS teachers/staff can grab a snack as a monthly mini thank you from STMS families for all that they do for our kids.
• The cart is funded by STMS parents through the PTO, and every month, we reach out to the parents of one or two grade-level teams to donate $5 to $15 to stock the cart.
• 7th Grade has a goal of $150 per grade team to cover the cart for Dec, Jan & Feb; so far, only $85 has been donated.
