Any Alliance or MLC student who attends the entire event will be entered into a drawing for a $1000 scholarship that can be used to help pay for post secondary education at the end of the night.

For questions please contact Nicole Harris, MPG College Coordinator (nharris3@pps.net or 971.288.8065) or Tanya Leib, MLC Career Coordinator (tleib@pps.net)
All School Talent Show!
K-5 Conference Sign Ups
Don't forget to mark your calendars for our spring conferences for grades K-5. THESE ARE NO STUDENT DAYS for K-5 only. This is a chance for families to hear progress your student made so far this year and serves as their Q3 report card. Signs ups are open and are through your teacher. KCLC will be open!
Changes for 2024-25
PPS schools have changes in scheduling and staffing for the 2024-25 school year.
MLC is exploring a full day on Friday for students and staff to accommodate the changes in the contract as a result of bargaining as well as FDA rules regarding lunch not being served on a half day.
PPS recently sent an email with new start and end times for all schools. We are an MPG school (Multiple Pathways to Graduation) so we are able to decide which model works best for us. When we have more information and our schedule is decided, we will share with our community.
Volunteers needed in the library!
Our library needs some love.
Here are some of the projects we are working on:
- Shelving books
- Weeding out old or damaged books
- Cleaning up the shelves so the books are in the correct places
- Book displays, bulletin boards, general decor updating
If any of these seems like something you can help with, send Molly an email msoloway@pps.net

Online Silent Auction (open to all, no tickets required): May 3-12
ourschool.support/MLC2024GrowTogether
More than just a fundraiser, Grow Together is a celebration of the strong bonds that unite us. Last year, our return to post-pandemic gatherings with the "Come Together" auction reaffirmed the importance of community. As we continue to strengthen our connections and sow the seeds for another fruitful year, we invite everyone to become more rooted in relationships and "Grow Together." Tickets are available starting at $0 with tiered pricing designed for inclusion. It is important to us that cost not be a barrier to attendance and that all feel welcome. However, please note that the event is 21+. We are exploring offering offsite childcare so please let us know if you would be interested in learning more about that option.
We can’t do it without you! Check out the pink info handout that should be coming home with your student to read more about ways in which you can support Grow Together. Contact Sierra Stringfield Perryman with any questions.
Get your tickets: It’s helpful to have a rough headcount as we make final preparations!
Host a Buy-In Party: Host an event and help our community connect!
Donate to the silent and live auctions or our Wine Wall: Contribute your time, talent, or treasure! Especially seeking MLC families who have services or skills to offer, as well as additional homes, hotels, or cabins for staycations and nearby getaways.
Volunteer: We have many volunteer opportunities before, during, and after the event. Reach out to get involved now or stay tuned for more info and a sign-up sheet!
SAVE THE DATE: PTSA Used Book Sale
Thursday May 2, 8:30am-6:00pm
Friday, May 3, 8:30am-2:00pm
MLC Library
The Used Book Sale has become a beloved annual tradition benefiting the MLC library and we are excited to announce that it will return this year thanks to dedicated volunteers! More details to follow, but please start collecting books in good condition to donate and contact Tammy Chan if you can lend a hand with collecting, sorting, cleaning, and staffing.
SAVE THE DATE / VOLUNTEER: Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week
May 6-10
We are planning a variety of activities to show our teachers and staff how much we appreciate them and in the coming weeks we will share suggestions for no-cost actions students and families can participate in to help us celebrate! If you are interested in assisting with our efforts, please email Sierra to learn more.
VOLUNTEER: Parking Crew
The MLC PTSA hosts parking in our school lots for Timbers and Thorns games which helps support our school with much-needed funds for classrooms and electives supplies, field trips, scholarships and community events…so many of the things we love about MLC! Shifts are short and we will be there to teach you everything you need to know. For every shift you volunteer, we will enter your name into a drawing for a prize (Timbers tickets, Oaks Park skating passes, and more). Thanks to our generous donors for these fun incentives.
Sign up HERE with a friend or come make new ones! Questions? Contact our coordinators, Tammy or Chenney.
IS IT YOU? We Need PTSA Board Members for Next Year
The MLC PTSA will be holding elections on June 4 for board positions for the 2024-25 school year. We are looking for candidates for:
President - 2 year term
Vice President - 2 year term
Secretary - 1 year term (to finish out current term)
The PTSA is a great way to meet new families, get to know staff better, and to ensure that our teachers and students are supported. No prior board experience is required -- just a love for your kids and our school community. We hope to have some new parents join us and would LOVE to see more families get involved! If you are interested in serving, or just want any more information about the positions and what they are responsible for, please contact current President Jeremy Booth.

TOURS AND ENROLLMENT
MLC Tours for Interested Students & Families
Exploring school options to determine the best fit for a student can be both exciting and anxiety producing. We believe getting to actually see the surrounding location and have a guided tour of the building can be very helpful in this decision-making process. To accommodate the numerous requests for tours, we offer a monthly tour for up to 10 interested families on the second Thursday of each month at 4:00 pm and will last approximately 45-60 minutes.
April 11
May 9
Please email Benner, our 7-12 counselor to initiate the sign up process or if you have any questions. gbenner@pps.net
When the lottery dates are announced we will also host an evening open house event for families. Please check our website for updates.
