December 2019 Newsletter

We hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with loved ones and we enjoyed celebrating with you all last month. As the winter holidays approach we have many special events planned for our students and families and look forward to spending time with you all. We’ve also enclosed important winter and holiday procedure reminders in this newsletter. Please read through it carefully and reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Happy Holidays!

Please ensure that when you enter the Toddler 1 or Infant rooms that you are not wearing shoes or bare feet. You can either remove your shoes or use the provided shoe covers. Also, please ensure that siblings are not entering these classrooms. This helps us maintain a safe and clean environment for our little ones. Thank you for your cooperation!

The chilly weather has truly set in, and anyone who has lived in Ohio for more than a year knows that it will be here to stay. That being said, let's review Enchanted Care's policies for outdoor time.

• We will NOT apply sunscreen to children until March 2020.
• We will NOT take children outside if precipitation makes the playground unsafe. This typically means rain, excessive snow, or hail.
• We WILL take children outside until temperatures dip below 32 degrees.
• Please make sure you are dressing your child for the weather, and please label your child's coat, gloves, hat, etc. with a name.

We do not always follow the closure schedule of the local public schools because we don’t have to contend with the same transportation issues as public schools. Our goal is to be open as many days as possible to support our working parents. If we must close because our teachers cannot safely get to work, you will receive a notification via Links 2 Home as soon as the closure is announced. We also post notifications on our website and Facebook page.

Our parents are vital partners in helping us to maintain a safe and healthy environment for the students in our school. The most important thing you can do to assist us in creating a healthy environment is to keep your child home if they are ill. This reduces the spread of illness and allows your child to fully recuperate. Children may not attend school until they have been symptom free for 24 hours if they display any of the following:

• Fever of 100 degrees of more—must be fever free for 24 hours with no fever-reducing medicine before returning to school
• Vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach upset
• Heavy nasal discharge requiring wiping every 3-5 minutes
• Persistent, non-productive or barking cough
• Sore throat
• Skin rash
• Head lice
• Symptoms of a communicable disease such as pink eye, measles, chicken pox, mumps, or strep throat
• Fussy, cranky behavior unlike child’s normal demeanor that may indicate illness

This year, we've chosen to support Nationwide Children's Hospital. From Dec. 2-10, we will be collecting new items to donate. Items in particular need include Lego sets, teethers/rattles, UNO, Little Tike and Fisher Price toys, Crayola art supplies, and Play-doh. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

For each new full-time child enrolled for 3 consecutive months, referring parent receives one free week of tuition for their oldest enrolled child.

For each new part-time child enrolled for 3 consecutive months, referring parent receives $100 off tuition for their oldest enrolled child.

An existing family can refer as many new children as they wish,

and receive the discount for each one!
