Greetings Team Bridgetown! This week we will begin reading our new book, “Inside Out & Back Again.” Students will be reviewing character analysis and summarization skills with gist statements.

Science - Ms. Banson
Hello Team Bridgetown,
This week students explored the reasons for the seasons. They were able to develop a Sun-Earth model to explain how the tilt of the Earth’s axis and its position around the Sun allows for direct and indirect light to hit the planet. Next week, students will explore the Moon-Earth system while learning how the moon’s phases change and how eclipses happen. For learning about moon phases, we would like to ask students to bring in a box of Oreos on Tuesday to prepare for our fun and memorable moon phase lab on Wednesday. In addition, students have a Brain Pop Science HW entitled “Earth’s Seasons” online. Instructions can be found on Canvas.
Next week will be our last week of Roots for Advisory 3. They include:
*gon = having a number of angles , (polygon, pentagon)
demo = common people , (demonstrate, demographic)
*cracy = crat , government , (democracy, bureaucrat)
*term = end, word , terminal, (terminology, terminals)
macro = large , (macrophage, microorganism)
Keepers: angle, deci, semi, alp, morph, sed, gram, hydro, iso, aqua, cirrus, photo, neo, mis, retro. This quiz will take place on Friday, March 7th.
World Geography & Cultures - Lenhardt
We will start a new unit this week, studying the countries in the European continent! We will be receiving and filling in lots of new materials, but there won’t be many grades going out as we frontload new information. Over the weekend of 8-9th, study for the quiz the following week, by showing your students maps of Europe and asking them what they’ve learned.
I am also running out of some materials for class. I would appreciate donations of printer paper, loose lined paper, and paper towels. We also have some students in need of new notebooks.
ELA Resource - Ms. White
Greetings! This past week students completed a Formative B assignment about various topics related to Vietnam to participate in a Gallery Walk. The purpose of this Gallery Walk was to build background knowledge about Vietnam prior to beginning Unit 3 and our new text “Inside Out & Back Again”. Next week students will continue to build their background knowledge by completing a Research Simulation, which will require them to watch/analyze a short video and read 2 nonfiction texts to complete a short essay.
