PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families,
It's time for our second round of Family/Teacher Conferences! Our teachers are excited to touch base with you, provide updates on your child's progress, and share more information about our teaching and learning for the rest of the school year. We're using a digital system called “Meet the Teacher” that lets you hop on and schedule a time slot that fits your schedule perfectly.
Keep an eye out for an email from “Meet the Teacher” (see example email) in your primary contact's inbox on Infinite Campus - #1 in your email list. This email will contain a direct link for you to sign up for your conference. Heads up: The email from “Meet the Teacher” sometimes ends up in the SPAM folder, so give that folder a quick check if you don’t see the email in your inbox.
Our goal is to have 100% participation so that we can support our students to learn, grow, and be the best they can be. If you hit a snag or need some support, please reach out to us. Our office staff will be happy to help you reserve a conference.
Warmly,
Amanda

DEAN OF STUDENTS’ UPDATE
Hello Eagle Crest Families!
The brisk and cold January weather has brought with it an accumulation of jackets, hats, gloves, and other items in our Lost and Found. With the temperature fluctuating throughout the day, it’s easy for items to be left behind. We encourage you to stop by and reclaim any lost belongings before they are donated next week. The Lost and Found is located near the front office and is accessible every day before 4 PM.
We also want to thank you for your flexibility with Indoor Arrivals. While we aim to be outside as much as possible, the unpredictable weather has required us to adjust our plans on short notice. If you are not receiving our communication about Indoor Arrivals, please let us know! It’s important that your contact settings in Infinite Campus are up-to-date so you don’t miss these important notifications. Our office staff is happy to help update your information or troubleshoot any issues.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we navigate the winter months together!
All the best,
Lindsey Cheney
Dean of Students
Eagle Crest Elementary School

CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE (FORMERLY TRIBUTE TO TEACHERS)
The St. Vrain Valley Schools Education Foundation is thrilled to announce that the Celebration of Excellence (formerly Tribute to Teachers) nomination form opens on January 13th! This cherished annual event honors outstanding educators from every St. Vrain school who exemplify excellence in their roles and make extraordinary contributions to student success.
We invite students, parents, volunteers, fellow educators, school staff, community members, and business partners to nominate exceptional educators who inspire, innovate, and shape the future. In order to qualify, nominees must be licensed educators in the State of Colorado and employed at a St. Vrain Valley Schools campus for the current school year. Educators who received their school's Educator of the Year honor within the past two years are not eligible.
Based on your nominations, one educator from each St. Vrain Valley school will be selected as their school’s Educator of the Year. These honorees will be recognized during the Celebration of Excellence on April 11, 2025, where a district-wide Educator of the Year will also be announced.
Nominations are open January 13 through February 5. Don’t miss this opportunity to recognize the educators who make a lasting impact in our schools and community!

Preschool-aged families who live in St. Vrain Valley are invited to a magical, musical evening featuring a special reading of Emilia Tries the Cello by local teacher, author, and cellist Dr. Katarina M. Pliego. Accompanied by members of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, this enchanting story will come to life with a selection of short musical pieces ranging from classical to pop. During the experience, children will have the opportunity to play a variety of instruments and even create their own, blending STEM principles with musical creativity. Books will be given away while supplies last, and snacks and translation services will be available.
