MAY GUIDANCE LESSONS & UPDATES
Our May guidance lesson will be over Personal Health and Safety. We will host the district approved NetSmartz during the month of May for internet safety. NetSmartz is NCMEC's online safety education program. It provides age-appropriate videos and activities to help instruct children be safer online with the goal of helping children to become more aware of potential online risks and empowering them to help prevent victimization by making safer choices on- and offline. For more information, please click on the link to learn more about the program https://www.missingkids.org/netsmartz/home .
Spur Ambassadors will be wrapping up their community projects for the year with the Saginaw Animal Shelter. Thank you for your gracious donations. Together, we can make a difference for our local shelter that is in need. We are still accepting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald Home (year round).
Our Kindness Club will be ending the year on a "GOOD NOTE". They will be setting up in the mornings for students to stop by and leave a note for someone that has been a good friend, shown kindness, or helped them out this school year. Kindness Club will pass them out at the end of the week. Please have your student listen to announcements so they know when the table will be set up so they can take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. I love their hearts and the difference they have made this year. I am beyond proud of them. We are sending some AMAZING 5th graders to PVMS. We wish them the best of luck! #onceaspuralwaysaspur

POP TABS
Ronald McDonald House Charities: a nonprofit family & children's charity dedicated to supporting families with sick children in their time of need. Little things can make a big difference. You can help support the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth by collecting the little tabs you pull to open soda, soup or other aluminum cans. The funds generated from recycling these aluminum gems help offset the House’s expenses. Collecting pop tabs is a great program that benefits the Ronald McDonald House families. Spur Ambassadors will be collecting pop tabs all year long. You may drop them off at the counselor’s office in the container marked for Ronald McDonald Pop Tabs.
All About Mrs. Taylor
Hello, my name is Kelly Taylor. I am delighted to be your child's professional school counselor at Comanche Springs Elementary. The 2024-2025 school year will be my seventh full year as the Comanche Springs counselor. This year marks my twenty-ninth year in education and my sixteenth year at Eagle Mountain Saginaw Independent School District. I received my Master’s in Education from Lamar University and my teaching degree in Education with a minor in Reading from Texas Wesleyan University. Formerly, I was a 5th/4th-grade ELAR (English/Language Arts) teacher at Elkins Elementary. Previously, I taught for thirteen years in the Crowley Independent School District (Grades 2nd, 3rd, and 6th) and served as the department head for English/Language Arts and Social Studies. I have two beautiful children, a wonderful and supportive husband, and a fur baby named Rocco. My daughter is a recognized scholar and a graduate of The University of North Texas with a degree in Business Marketing and is a tattoo artist. My son is a sophomore at The University of Texas in Austin and continues to receive University Honors for his academic excellence, Hook 'Em! I enjoy traveling to Europe, the beach, shopping, walking Rocco, and trying new restaurants. I am looking forward to another great year at Comanche. Go, SPURS!!
