Hi my name is Kelly Weier (pronounced like wire). I was born in South Texas where I grew up in Matagorda, Boling, and Ft. Stockton. I finished my high school years in Green River, WY.

After high school I attended Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota, where I played collegiate volleyball and softball. I graduated with a B.A. in Sports Medicine with an emphasis in Fitness and Performance. After college I moved to Farmington, New Mexico to be with my husband. While in Farmington I coached high school volleyball and decided I wanted to go back to get my teaching licensure. I attended the University of New Mexico to receive my alternative licensure.

I started my teaching career in 2004 at Esperanza Elementary in Farmington, NM. In 2006 my husband took a job with the City of Denton and I took a job working at Hodge Elementary. I have worked for Denton ISD, Argyle ISD, The Corinth Academy, Founders Classical Academy of Corinth, and Denton Classical Academy. This year starts my 19th year of teaching. I love working with students of all ages. I am excited to be back in Kindergarten again.

In my spare time I enjoy teaching group fitness classes at a local Fitness Center.

I have an 18 year old daughter who will be playing college basketball for Murray State college. My 14 year old son plays high school soccer and is a part of the marching band. When we get away as a family we enjoy heading to the beach, spending time at the lake, or going to the Texas Rangers baseball games.

There are several online forms in parents' Skyward Family Access which need to be completed. These forms show as a "tile" link in your Family Access. Please don't delay in getting these forms completed and submitted.

Are you interested in volunteering at DCA this school year? Fill out your Volunteer Application now in order to ensure your ability to go on field trips, help with class parties, be a lunch room monitor or class reader, etc. It often takes weeks or months to be approved so do not put this off until the volunteer opportunity that you are interested in comes along. Please make sure you leave by the end time of your time-slot so that we have parking lot space for the next group. We will not have access to overflow parking as we have in the past.

You will also be able to drop off school supplies, sign up for sports interest, turn in medication, sign up for PTO and so much more!

We have openings in the DCA Extended Day program for the 2024-2025 school year. Does your student need help from experienced teachers with their homework? Need a way to get energy out playing with other students? Enjoy crafts, games, etc. We have a place for you! for $230 a month, $200/student for 2 children, $175/student for 3 children. Contact Mrs. Mason for more information.

Time is running out to get your summer reading done! Remember it is a requirement that is to be completed before school begins on August 13. Don't wait until the last minute, there is work to do along with the reading.

The Groggy Dog online store continues to be open through Wednesday, July 24. Uniforms ordered during this time will be available by the time school begins on August 13. Flinn O'Hara will remain a provider so that girls may order the plaid skirts and jumpers.

• If you plan to volunteer in any of our Spring activities such as field trips, end of year parties and field day, please go ahead and complete the Volunteer Application by clicking on the button below. This includes going on a field trip as a tag-along, walking around with your child's class at field day, etc. Please do not wait until sign-up for these events begin because the Background Check goes through our HR Department and it takes time for the approval to happen.
• We can always use Lunch & Recess Monitors and Copy Cats as well as various activities such as helping with Book Fair too.
• Please be advised, you must fill out a new application each school year.
