Updates
✏️ Our AVID 2 students are hosting a canned food drive this week. Ask your leader how you can support their efforts.
✏️ The final ECU grade check was sent to leaders this afternoon and is due by Thursday, March 18th. Please make sure this form is filled out so IECHS can provide support for your leaders before ECU exams begin.
✏️ We wish our Chemistry Olympiad team well as they compete in Nationals on Monday.
✏️ Thank you to PTSO and the IECHS Culture Club for hosting a wonderful event on Saturday!
Weekly Events
✏️English I and Math III check-ins will take place on Wednesday, March 17th.
✏️ Come out and support our Texas Roadhouse Spirit Night on Thursday, April 18th from 3:00-9:00. 10% of proceeds will support the IECHS prom.
✏️Our senior trip is on April 19-21.
✏️Prom tickets will be on sale from April 1st until May 3rd. Tickets can be purchased from Mr. Grant or Ms. Putney. The cost of tickets is $45 for a single and $70 for a couple.
Senior Corner
Updates:
🎓 Our senior breakfast will be located at Julep Contemporary Kitchen, 207 B, Greenville Blvd SW, Greenville, NC 27834 (inside the Hilton - Greenville), on May 13th from 9:00 - 11:00 am. All graduating seniors and super seniors are invited at no extra cost to them as long as your senior dues have been paid. Please be sure to RSVP for the event ASAP if you would like to attend.

💸 Minority Scholarships- Check out the resource titled "50+ College Scholarships for Minority Students," published by Purdue University Global. This resource shares 50+ financial aid scholarships for future and current college students and potential graduate students to supplement the cost of education. The resource highlights opportunities dedicated to specific demographics such as African Americans, Asian Americans, Latino Students, Native Americans, and more.
💸The Junior League of Greenville is now accepting applications for our scholarship program! Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to qualifying female graduating high school seniors of Pitt County.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must be a woman of at least 17 years of age.
- Currently a graduating high school senior
- Current resident of Pitt County
- Pending acceptance to a post-secondary institution
- May not be an immediate relative of a JLG member (i.e. sibling, daughter)
Scholars must use the funds awarded within one calendar year from the official award date. Scholarship funds will be dispersed directly to the educational institution for expenses incurred while attending program (e.g., tuition/program fees, books, supplies, lodging). Deadline to apply is April 12th. 2024 Scholarship Application can be found here.
💸The North Carolina Alpha Delta Kappa Student Achievement Scholarship is available through the North Carolina Community Foundation. This scholarship is $2000 and is open to a male or female, on track to graduate and planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year college or university. Specific eligibility requirements are: SAT score of 990 to 1130 or ACT composite score of 20 to 24; unweighted GPA of 2.5 to 3.5; good character, integrity, leadership potential and service to school, community and church.Students wishing to apply should check the NCCF website and watch for the updated application, usually in January. Then follow the NCCF guidelines to apply only through their online application portal. No printed or emailed applications will be accepted.
