Principal Message
Dear Hoover Families,
Happy New Year! We are so excited to have all of our Huskies back at school! It has been a great two days and we are looking forward to a wonderful 2025 filled with lots of laughter and learning!
As part of our ongoing commitment to sharing information about programs at Hoover and how we support our Huskies, I want to share information about our Level 3 EBD (Emotional Behavioral Disorder) services.
What Are Level 3 EBD Services?
Level 3 EBD services provide:
Smaller Classes: Students learn in a structured, small-group setting designed to support emotional and behavioral needs.
Personalized Plans: Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) set goals and offer tailored strategies to help students manage emotions and behaviors.
Behavior and Emotional Support: Students learn skills to regulate emotions, resolve conflicts, and interact positively with others.
Expert Support: Specialists like behavior analysts, counselors, social emotional learning interventionists, and therapists collaborate with teachers to support students.
Classroom Inclusion: Students join general education classrooms when they are ready, fostering social connections and academic growth.
Why Offer Level 3 EBD Services?
The goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where students with emotional and behavioral challenges can develop the skills they need for lifelong success.
Who Qualifies?
Eligibility for Level 3 EBD services is determined through evaluations and staff and family collaboration using progress monitoring data while also following state statute and due process laws.
Commitment to Inclusion:
Our school is dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where all students feel valued and supported. Level 3 EBD services are one way we ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.
If you have any questions, need assistance, or need to report any concerns, I encourage you to reach out to me directly via email at mmeyer1@isd77.org or phone at 507-388-5202. Our school counselor, Angie Parker (aparke1@isd77.org), and our school social worker, Lindsey Northenscold (lnorth1@isd77.org), are also available to provide support
Sincerely,
Mollie Meyer
Elementary Principal
Attendance Matters
Dear Families,
As we settle back into our school routines, we want to remind everyone of the importance of daily attendance and arriving on time. Being present and punctual not only sets students up for success but also helps them feel connected and ready to learn.
Chronic absenteeism is something we are closely monitoring, as every school day truly counts. If your family is experiencing challenges that make attendance difficult, please don't hesitate to reach out to our attendance team—we’re here to support you!
Thank you for your partnership in helping all our students thrive. Let’s make it a great start to the new year!
Warm regards,
The Attendance Team
(Lindsey Northenscold, Angie Parker, Mollie Meyer)
Early Release Day
Please be reminded Wednesday, January 8th is a two hour early release. Students will be dismissed from school at 12:30 pm. If your dismissal plans are different from a normal school day you MUST tell your students' homeroom teacher.
If you need your student to stay until 2:30 pm you must register your child for supervision. We ask that you continue to register each month for early release supervision as many families' plans change. If your student attends ACES or YMCA you still need to register for child supervision each time.
Parents/Guardians that pick up students please pull up in the pick up line in front of the building on Marie lane. Students will be watching for you to pull up inside door number 1. We ask that you please refrain from picking up between 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm as our staff wishes to focus their time on engaging in meaningful activities with students. We understand that circumstances may change, but appreciate your help with this request.
If you need child care for your student between 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm for the upcoming Early Release Day, please fill out the form linked below. (If you would like to send a snack for after school please feel free to do so as lunch is served early.)
