From the Superintendent

Dear Washburne Staff and Families,

I am reaching out with an update from our administrative team as we begin to plan for the 2025/2026 school year. Dr. Andrew Fenton has accepted a position as the Director of Teaching and Learning at Lake Forest District 67, pending Board approval this evening. While it is bittersweet to share the news that Dr. Fenton will be leaving Washburne at the end of the school year, we wish him the very best in this transition and are grateful for his leadership over the past six years as an administrator in Winnetka. We know the Lake Forest school community is gaining an incredible colleague and thoughtful leader.

This evening, we have a School Board meeting at which we will further discuss plans for this transition. We will share information regarding the search process for the next Principal at Washburne by the end of the week. We welcome your partnership as we prepare for a new Principal at Carleton Washburne School. In the meantime, please join me in congratulating Dr. Fenton. We are grateful for the many ways his leadership has enhanced education in Winnetka.
