Greetings, Lake Windward Families,

We had a great first day of school! I hope your child came home happy and excited to return to school tomorrow! 😊 This year's theme is We Are All-Stars- Knocking It Out Of The Park!

This morning, we allowed parents to walk with their children to class. This is only permitted on the first day. Starting tomorrow (Tuesday), students should enter the school independently. We have many staff stationed throughout the building to assist students who are unsure of how to get to their classroom. From our experience, most students only need a couple of days to get used to their new routine.

Today’s carpool went very smoothly. However, please be reminded that if you drop off or pick up your children in the carpool line, be sure to refer to the mailing that was sent over the summer with carpool procedures. For safety reasons, cars should not pass other cars in the drop off/pick up area (unless directed by a staff member). Please patiently wait for the cars in front of you to move and do not attempt to go around other cars dropping off or picking up students. Also, please work with your child to memorize your family’s carpool number as this is how students are dismissed to the carpool pick up area.

Attached to this email communication is a letter regarding Georgia’s new early literacy legislation. Please take a few minutes to read the informational letter.
