Lincoln Lions Family Newsletter
October 28, 2024
Dear Lincoln Families,
I hope you all had weekend that included some rest and relaxation. As we approach this last week in October, I have just a few reminders for the four days we have with students.
- Thursday, Oct. 31st will be Fall Dress-Up Day! This will be an opportunity for students dress in their favorite fall colors, patterns, OR wear costumes if they choose.
- Any costume weapons or scary costume elements should not be brought/worn to school. If for some reason they accidentally make their way to school, adults will hold on to them until it's time to go home.
- On Thursday, many classes will hold low level activities/celebrations as designated by individual classroom teachers. They will communicate their specific class plans to families directly.
- Friday Nov 1st, there is No School for teachers or students
- Next Monday, Nov 4th is Picture Retake Day!
Respectfully,
Principal D. Roberts
Kindergarten Visits Gull Meadow Farms!
Building a Strong Community of Readers Is The Goal
KPL Mobile Library Visits Kindergarten This Week!
The Kalamazoo Public Library Book Mobile will visit our kindergarteners at Lincoln on Monday, October 28th. Each student will be able to climb aboard the book mobile and choose books to practice their reading skills! When your children get home after school, ask them to tell you about something they read.
Residents, businesses, and property owners in the Kalamazoo Public Library District (which includes the Kalamazoo Public School District, City of Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo Township, and Oshtemo Township) may apply for a KPL card (with full patron privileges) at no charge. Those in communities outside the Kalamazoo Public Library District may be eligible for a reciprocal account with a valid card from their home library.
To sign up for a Kalamazoo Public Library card, complete the form below. If you reside within the KPL District and are eligible for a KPL account, you will be provided with your new account information and will have immediate access to all of our collections and services. You can also visit one of the five KPL locations and staff are more than happy to help you sign up!
Do you want to learn skills and strategies to help your child with reading?
