THMS Student Update

It has been a great couple of weeks welcoming our teachers, staff, and students back to campus! We are still working to adjust some student schedules based on graduation requirements and computer errors, but we hope to have everything sorted out prior to our Open House on August 20, 2024. We appreciate all of your patience! We have several important events coming up that you'll want to add to your calendars.

If you did not have your school portrait taken during summer processing, please plan to do so this Thursday, August 15th, or Friday, August 16th, in the Cafeteria. Students will be able to go at the beginning of their Science classes. We hope to have as many students as possible be photographed so that they can be included in our 24-25 Yearbook. There will be one more make-up day this year on Monday, September 16th.

We hope you will join us next Tuesday evening, August 20, 2024, for our Open House! The event will begin with a Fall Sports Parent Meeting in the Auditorium for any families interested in participating in our Fall Sports of Football, Flag Football, Girls Volleyball, Golf, Cross Country, and Swimming. This meeting will begin at 4:45 p.m.

We will host our Annual Title I Meeting in the Library at 5:30 p.m.

Our Open House will start with classroom visits beginning at 6:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to meet your student's teachers and observe their classroom environments. Because the periods are so short, there will not be time for individual conferences, but you can schedule a conference with individual teachers for a different time. Please bring your student's schedule with you including their teachers and room numbers.

We hope to see many of our families at this event!

There will be no school next Wednesday, August 21, 2024 so that our Teachers and Staff can participate in Professional Learning activities. We have four of these days during the year. The other dates are Wednesday, October 23, 2024, Wednesday, January 29, 2025, and Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

Because of this adjustment to our instructional minutes, we will follow a Friday Schedule on Monday, August 19, 2024.

We are excited for our upcoming Fall Sports season to begin! We hope you will come out and support our student athletes and contribute to our school spirit during these Home Events.

Representatives from Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, the University of Arizona, and Pima Community College will be on our campus Thursday, August 29, 2024. Students and parents are invited to join us in the Cafeteria from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. to hear presentations and receive information about career options, financial aid, housing, and other topics.
