Plano Middle School Weekly Update

4 Day a week In-Person Learning Survey
Plano Middle School is committed to continuing to explore options to further the educational services we are able to provide under the safety guidelines of the 2020 - 21 school year.
For the remainder of the 2020 - 21 school year, we are committed to continuing to follow the guidelines provided by the Illinois Department of Public Health, CDC, and Illinois State Board of Education regarding social distancing in classrooms / hallways and mask wearing. Our classrooms will continue to adhere to guidelines that keep our students desks 6 feet apart and minimizes the numbers of students we can have in a classroom and on a bus at one time. All students and staff will continue to wear masks at all times when inside the school building. We will continue to use the same instructional model and schedule. Teachers will continue to teach in the classroom while teaching at-home students through Zoom simultaneously. Nothing will change with our instructional delivery model.
For families that are desiring to have their student attend in-person 4 days a week (following the above guidelines) we want to be able to explore these possibilities. Please know that this is dependent upon many variables and has to be looked at on a case-by-case-basis. While some classrooms have seats available, others are full. We must look at every student's schedule and make sure there is room for the student in all of their classes before moving forward. In order to do this, we are asking that you please complete the following survey to let us know who is interested in the possibility of 4 day a week in-person learning for their student.
We will utilize these results to go through every student's schedule wishing to be considered for 4 day a week in person learning 1-by-1 and be able to let each of you know if we do or do not have room to switch the student to 4 day a week in-person schedule. Please note that we will make this work for as many students as we can, but there is no guarantee that it will be possible for your student.
Please complete this survey by Sunday, March 7th so we can begin the process of looking through students' schedules as soon as possible.
