RRHS Update - Week of 3/11/24
IMPORTANT SOL and AP Testing Information
Hey Juniors – your Writing SOL is this week!
Juniors will be taking their two-day Writing SOL test in school this week. Each student has received an email from Mrs. Blessing detailing their testing days, location, and time as well as additional reminders. Students will need a charged Chromebook and charger on the mornings they are scheduled to test. If your student does not have an LCPS-issued device they must receive a loaner device in the MPR from Mr. Colucci before their testing block begins! We do not have loaner Chromebooks to give to students who forget theirs at home.
The AP Registration Deadline is this Friday!
The final deadline to make any changes to AP Exam decisions is THIS FRIDAY, March 15, 2024, at 12:00 PM. Late registrations will not be accepted after this date.
Please confirm the AP Exam decisions are correct for all AP courses your student is enrolled in by having them log into their College Board account at AP Students | College Board. If your student is having trouble with their College Board account, they must call the College Board to sort this out.
Community Listening Session with Dr. Spence!
Mark your calendars! Next Thursday, 3/14, we are welcoming Dr. Spence for a Superintendent Community Listening Session.
Please join us as we speak with the new Superintendent about developing relationships with the community, support his learning about LCPS and build upon successes and meaningful change. This event is an excellent opportunity for our school community to share comments, concerns and feedback directly to Division leadership.
The sessions will be in the Cafeteria. The Schedule will be as follows:
7:00p-8:00p Community Session
8:00p-8:30p Community Meet & Greet
All community members are invited to attend one or more of these events to make their voices heard and participate in this process. More information is available on the LCPS website (https://www.lcps.org/suptcls).
Assistance: Those who need translation/interpretation assistance or a reasonable accommodation for any type of disability in order to be able to participate meaningfully in these meetings should contact the Superintendent's Office at least three days prior to the meeting at clerk@lcps.org.
Nominations are OPEN for SEAC Awards
The Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) is currently accepting nominations of educators, students, programs, parents and community members who demonstrate excellence in the Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) special education community and have gone above and beyond what is expected to be meaningfully inclusive.
The Recognition for Excellence in Supporting Special Education Awards honors those who have gone above and beyond to foster meaningful inclusion that promotes adaptability, creativity, disability awareness, acceptance and peer-to-peer interactions for students with disabilities. To submit a nomination, fill out the 2024 Nomination Form. Nominations must be received by midnight on Friday, March 22 to be considered.
Winners will be notified by SEAC by the first week of May 2024. The SEAC Awards Ceremony will be on June 5 at Rock Ridge High School.
