Mission Statement
Our ECHS Owls are taught to have H.O.P.E.--faith in the premise that they can create OPPORTUNITY and a better future through EFFORT, HARD WORK, and PERSONAL COURAGE. This idea of H.O.P.E. is woven into the fabric of our ECHS family.
Greetings ECHS School Community!
We had a positive start to the second nine weeks of this school year.
We are very aware that in the month of October there may be a lull and some challenge with continuing to chug along! In acknowledgement of ALL our Dedicated ECHS Teachers & Staff do, Mrs. Ross & I inserted a Bonus "ECHS Staff Appreciation Week", during the week of October 21st, to let our staff know what they do truly makes a difference!
Highlights from this week are included within our OWLstanding News section.
October 28th - October 31st, our Student Council will sponsor Red Ribbon Week! Red Ribbon Week is a drug and violence prevention awareness campaign which ECHS has participated in for the past eight years. Our students and school community are encouraged to actively participate in the campaign. More details are included within today’s OWL Update.
As a friendly reminder, Friday (November 1st) is a RRISD Student Holiday (NO SCHOOL for our students) and Staff Development Day. Please remember, although there IS NOT RRISD bus transportation on these RRISD student holidays, ACC classes ARE still in session on November 1st. As a result, Our ECHS Owls who are in ACC classes are reminded to PLEASE check with their professors for more information regarding the ACC course expectations for November 1st. Please plan accordingly.
Please reach out if you have any questions.
GO OWLS!

ECHS Enrichment Clubs - October 25, 2024
Thanks to all our ECHS co-leaders for their thoughtful preparation for the enrichment club sessions! Our appreciation to the club members for their participation and to our club sponsors for their supportive supervision.
This week’s featured enrichment club is:
The Book Club
SHOUT OUT to The Book Club co-leads: (Amelie H., Paulina M. and Leah E.) and teacher sponsor, Mrs.Wagliardo. It was shared that The Book Club went on a little trip to the ACC Library to do a book tasting which was set up by one of the ACC librarians, Kristyn P. Students were able to try out and read some books based on different genres set up at tables by the librarian. The genres were thriller, fantasy, and romance from which the students were able to receive a free book to keep and check out the library books they found interesting.
