Message From Dr. Collavo
Hello MHS Community,
Our spring has started wonderfully. The Bears are getting after it in the classroom in preparation for a demanding spring and EOC Testing. On top of rigorous classroom activities, Band and Choir students have made all-state and will be performing at TMEA, Choir will be performing at Nationals, swim is headed to Regionals on 2/7, ACADEC and UIL Academics have done fantastic, boys and girls basketball have been competing hard, golf and tennis continue to compete at top levels, both boys and girls soccer have been doing great even in crazy weather, and now track, softball, baseball, and powerlifting have begun their seasons, and another round of college scholarship signees. I would be remiss if I did not mention that a few of our NHS members went to Chicago on a great learning opportunity and got to fully experience all the great things the windy city has to offer. Additionally, if you have not come to see our theater program perform Mamma Mia!, there are still a few more opportunities to do so on February 7-8th; it is a fantastic musical performed by even better students.
Senior Families:
As the semester closes and we head towards graduation on May 20th at Sam Houston State University, we will finalize Honor-Grads, Top 10 percent, Valedictorian and Salutatorian, and GPA. Additionally, we have some fun activities on the horizon, Senior Serve, Senior Letters, Cap and Gown Delivery, Yearbook Ads, Honor Grad Dinner, Senior Achievement, Senior Sunset, Senior Trip, Prom, Grad Walks, and Graduation.
Last, I want to thank each of our MHS families for your continued support as we come together to ensure the best for each one of our Bears. Montgomery truly is the best community in Texas, and that is because of each of you.
Sincerely,
Dr. Troy Collavo

MISD Centennial Celebration
MISD is excited to officially kick-off the MISD Centennial Celebration #MISDCenturyofSuccess with the February 2025 Issue of MISD Matters.
In this issue, you will hear from Dr. Ruffin as he opens the celebration with an introductory video, and you'll also hear from some special MISD alumni as they wish MISD a Happy 100th Birthday! This issue's feature story has us sitting down with Montgomery ISD's three longest-tenured employees who have been working for MISD Transportation for nearly four decades, as they share their memories and experiences with you!
Other items in the issue include updates from MISD Specialized Learning and an invitation to join Dr. Mark Ruffin on Thursday, March 20 at 5:30pm for the Spring 2025 Budget Town Hall Meeting!
We hope you enjoy this issue of MISD Matters and encourage you to share the link with your neighbors and colleagues!
