The eLeader
The official digital newsletter of La Porte ISD
Greetings, La Porte ISD Family. Today is a great day to be a Bulldog!
I hope this letter finds you refreshed as we prepare to come back to school on Wednesday following our Fall Break. Our return marks the beginning of the second nine-week grading period, and hopefully some cooler weather soon!
This week is National School Lunch Week, and we are celebrating it in a variety of ways, including serving lunch at every school! If your student has not yet tasted the outstanding meals made with the loving hands of our School Nutrition team, now is the time. Not only are breakfast and lunch FREE for all students this school year, but our district administrators would love the opportunity to say hello in the lunch line!
We continue to honor our principals during National Principals Month. If you get a chance, please thank a principal for their hard work. I also invite you to check out my Jackson Moments on social media as I make my way across the district this month to get to know our principals a little better.
Time is winding down for you to register for the Project Graduation 5K. I hope you will join us for this annual event at Sylvan Beach on October 26. I have participated in several of these, and they are always a blast. More importantly, 100% of the proceeds going towards a safe and enjoyable post-graduation celebration.

Must-Knows For This Week
- La Porte ISD is excited to introduce the easy option of paying for all school fees/spirit items with our new RevTrak online credit card payment system. Simply create an account, find your campus, choose your fee to pay and check out. The best part is that you will not be charged a fee to use the site. Access RevTrak here. (If you are adding funds to your student’s meal account, you will continue to use the My School Bucks website.)
- The 2024-25 Student Handbook and Student Code of Conduct are available online. Please familiarize your student with the contents. We are strictly enforcing the district dress code; you can review it beginning on page 54 of the Student Code of Conduct. Thank you for helping us ensure that our students dress appropriately.
- If your child rides the bus, we encourage you to download the SMART Tag Parent app. With the SMART Tag Parent App, families enjoy great features such as push notifications for load/unload status, proximity to home/school alerts and real-time location of your student's bus. Questions? Call our dedicated Transportation Department at 281-604-7177.
- Breakfast and Lunch are FREE for all La Porte ISD students this year! Supplemental food, such as fruits and vegetables, are also free for students who bring their lunch. (No registration is necessary.)
