PRINCIPAL'S NOTE FROM CINDY RUESCH
Thank you for another wonderful, but cold week at Rose! Speaking of the cold, we continue to follow the weather protocols established by the district for indoor and outdoor recess. We understand that you may be curious about whether recess will be held outdoors, especially during unpredictable weather. Please rest assured that our staff carefully monitors conditions throughout the day and makes decisions with student safety and comfort as our top priority. We will be going outside for recess if the windchill is above 0℉ (feels like temperature). With that in mind, please ensure that your child has the appropriate attire to remain comfortable and safe during these cold conditions. To help keep our phone lines available for urgent matters, we kindly ask that you refrain from calling the school to check on recess plans.
Additionally, as is our policy, if you arrive at or after 7:55, you must park and walk your child into the office and sign them in. The doors are locked at that time as students are expected to be in their classes at 8:00 am. Please DO NOT drop and go. Also, please only allow your child to exit your vehicle on the passenger side of the vehicle once the vehicle has safely come to a stop next to the sidewalk. Students may only exit the vehicle on the sidewalk. We have seen some students being dropped off in the grass. This is for your child's safety.
Supervision starts at 7:40 and you may begin dropping your child off at that time. If you arrive at or after 7:55 am, please park your car, escort your child or children into the office, and sign them in. Please remember, it is not safe to drop your child off at the curb or front door at or after 8:00 am and leave them unsupervised.
Rest assured, we have these measures in place to ensure the safety of our students. We appreciate your understanding and support in these matters!
