Principal's Message
Congratulations and job well done. Our amazing and truly unique learning community navigated the path of another academic year and there is much to be proud of and celebrate. Congratulations to our Kindergarten students for completing their first year of elementary school. Congratulations to our 5th graders as they leave us and take their gifts and talents to middle school. And congratulations to everyone in between as we welcome our final day of school together and look forward to continuing on our path of excellence in the 24/25 academic year.
Please take a moment to acknowledge the dedication and hard work of our staff. From teachers to paraprofessionals and everyone in between, I will say it over and over again - I will push my chips to the center of the table and ALWAYS bet on our Brandt School Staff. There is no finer lineup of educational professionals anywhere out there. If you give me a pencil and some paper, I'll prove that mathematically and show my work! Staff, thank you for the work you do in the service of the children entrusted to us every day.
Our growing and thriving learning community (recognized as a US News and World Report Best Elementary School, recognized as a "positive outlier" for math achievement by the New Jersey State Policy Lab and the Cornwall Center for Metropolitan Studies at Rutgers, recognized as a Kindness Certified School by the Great Kindness Challenge, and hopefully very soon recognized as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence) is poised to embark on another journey together in the coming school year. This is always a total community endeavor, and I am grateful for our parents/guardians for supporting the work we do every day.
Remember, regarding our preparations for 2024/2025: teacher assignments and class placements for the coming school year are an administrative school decision and not made based on parental requests.
Report cards for all grades are available in the OnCourse parent portal. Additionally, we will provide paper copies of report cards and final DRA3 letters for the year to families in grades K - 2.
Please make sure you take the time to read about summer assignment expectations. These activities are available for you to complete at your leisure over the break. You can access that information here. https://secure.smore.com/n/6un7dh. If you have questions about the assignments, you can also check out this helpful video from Vice Principal Della Fave and Booker the Bear! Summer Assignments Video- ELA, Math and SEL.
Periodically over the summer, I'll send out any pertinent news or reminders for the coming school year, so check your emails for a Smore newsletter from time to time.
School will reopen for students on Thursday, September 5th.
For the year's last playlist, take some positive vibes into the summer...
No matter what you plan to do over the summer, please be safe! I wish you a wonderful and restful break and look forward to getting the band back together in September.

Next year’s Passport to Learning Program has undergone a restructure based on family and staff input. Please allow me to introduce our new After School Program for all students.
