The Weekly Update #4

Ridge Road students and parents were encouraged to participate in several Family Literacy Week activities at Ridge Road Primary and Elementary. At RRP, every student received a new book for his or her home library through a donation by the Marine Toys for Tot Literacy program. Parents also sent in videos of reading at home with their kids and were then eligible for a prize of a basket of books for their home library. RRES began their Super Reader program for Grades 3-5, encouraging the use of MyOn at school and at home. The Super Readers will be celebrated at each HAWK Program through the year. Literacy Director Leah Clark held this year's first Raising a Reader at Ridge Road Parent Session where parents learned the importance of Read Alouds and how to make reading fun at home. It was a great week to celebrate the importance of Literacy at home and school.
