October 14th: School closed in observance of Columbus Day

October 16th: Unity Day! Join us in promoting kindness, acceptance, and inclusion in schools. Students are encouraged to wear orange.

October 18th: 🎀Pink Day! Join us in wearing pink as we support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

October 24th: Parent teacher conferences. Students will be dismissed at 12:10.

Are you or someone you know a United States Veteran? Please reach out if you would like to join us for our annual Veteran's Day Assembly held on Friday, November 8th. This is a very special day for us at Sloatsburg Elementary School and we would love to include as many veterans as possible. If interested, please email vrodriguez@sufferncentral.org.

We are super excited to invite you and your families to attend our annual Halloween parade! Students are invited to come to school wearing their costumes and we look forward to marching outside.

• The parade will begin at approximately 10 am.
• Parents are invited to park on our basketball court and grassy field near the side of the building.
• We will have several staff members positioned outside to show families where they can stand to watch the parade.
• Please make sure student costumes are school appropriate, by avoiding weapons and masks that they would be unable to see clearly through.
• Students may change after the parade or remain in their costumes for the day.
• If your student does not wish to participate in the parade please reach out to their teacher so we can find an alternate activity for this time period.

If you have any gently used Halloween costumes that you would like to donate, please send them in with your student. We will have a collection box outside of the main office. If you prefer to drop off in person there will be another collection bin in the vestibule.

We will be collecting until October 29th. More information to follow next month regarding our spooktacular Halloween Parade!!
