Out of School Time Program

WELCOME BACK!!

Dear Families,

We are excited to begin another amazing school year, and can't wait to have both new and returning students at the before and aftercare programs!

As the Director of the OST Program, I am always at looking at ways to improve upon what is already being offered to all children and their families. Our Program Coordinator, Deserie Sambun, has been planning some very creative activities, along with our Childcare Assistants, who are excited to welcome students into their newly decorated classrooms! Our OST Yoga instructor, Delia, has added a variety of lessons around mindfulness and meditation. This was such a success during the Summer, and we can't wait to offer more of this during the school year!

The goal of the OST Program is to ensure that all families feel comfortable in knowing that their children are being cared for in a safe, fun, and inclusive environment. I encourage and welcome consistent communication, and promote an open door policy. All families have their unique story, and I look forward to understanding yours with compassion, empathy, and kindness.

I am happy to announce that we are now providing OST aftercare to our littlest learners at the Macomber Primary School! After a successful pilot last Spring, our school committee approved the OST Program for our preschool and pre-k students. The program runs Monday-Friday, operates from 2:45 to 5:30 pm, and is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). There is no minimum number of days required to enroll, and children will enjoy activities such as art, science projects, dramatic play, physical activity, and so much more.

• Thursday, 8/29/24 - First Day of School for Grades 1-12. Both the Morning and Aftercare Programs will begin on the first day for students currently enrolled in OST.

• Drop off for morning care begins at 7AM, and aftercare program closes at 5:30PM.

• OST morning care (K-4)- Westport Elementary School - 380 Old County Rd

• OST aftercare Preschool-Kindergarten- Alice A. Macomber School- 154 Gifford Rd

• OST aftercare grades 1-4- Former High School- 19 Main Rd

• Monday, 9/2/2024- No School- Labor Day Program closed

• Tuesday, 9/3/2024- No School- Program closed

• Thursday, 9/5/2024 - First Day of School for Kindergarten! Morning and Aftercare programs will begin for children in Kindergarten who are enrolled in the program. The Cub Club will also begin on this day, for students in preschool/pre-K.
