GCIT Weekly Newsletter
January 10th 2025
Best Wishes For 2025
As the first Newsletter edition for 2025, I would like to take this opportunity once more to wish our entire school community a very Happy New Year - I hope that your year is filled with happiness and successes!
Thank you for always being a productive contributor to our school community! We began the new year with student assemblies, where we reviewed important reminders regarding ensuring that our students and staff are safe while on campus. During the assemblies, we also encouraged everyone to be vigilant regarding safety and security procedures.
All staff and students are required to have their GCIT lanyard and ID around their neck before entering the building and while on campus. Visitors and contractors to our building are also required to check-in and wear different color lanyards and identification while on our campus.
I would like to thank all the staff and students who continue to adhere to this procedure and encourage all parents to remind students to place their lanyard and ID in their bag after leaving the building so that they can have it the next school day. Let's all play our part to keep our school safe!
Cosmetology and Electrical Collaboration
Mrs. McIntyre's Cosmetology 4 students visited Mr. Takach's Electrical shop to learn about electrical safety and how circuits can become overloaded. Before leaving, students tested out their small electric appliances and saw how to reset a blown breaker and how to inspect cords and plugs for damage.

The AMAS Program At GCIT Is NIICA Certified
The Advanced Manufacturing and Applied Science (AMAS) program is now a National Institute for Industry and Career Advancement (NIICA) certified program! We received the note below from the Director of Workforce Innovation at NIICA, Robert Weinman.
"I’m thrilled to share some great news with you! As a member of the Semiconductor Industry Network of Colleges™ (SINC), your program and course profiles entered into the National Talent Hub™ (NTH) have been vetted and are now officially NIICA Certified.
This certification validates that a select set of your education and training programs align with the Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) employers in advanced manufacturing and the semiconductor industries require. It’s a clear acknowledgment of the critical role GCIT plays in preparing the workforce of tomorrow."
Congratulations to our AMAS program, Mr. Joe Haase, Mr. Matt Woodrow, and all those who continue to make our AMAS program successful!
