Volunteers to support Chorus!
We are once again looking for volunteers to assist with BCES chorus for our upcoming production in the spring. Our spring production is quite ambitious so any bit helps. Please let me know if you or anyone you may know are willing to help with the following:
- Creating scenery or decorations for the stage
- Helping create costumes/masks for students
- Helping setup/assist during rehearsals
If you are able to assist in any way, please contact me here on talkingpoints or via email: msweet@wcpss.net

Book Fair!
Book Fair is here!!
We are so excited to help the kids shop at the Book Fair starting this Friday. Please note sales tax (7.25%) will be added to all Book Fair purchases (in person or online). Please make sure to account for tax when you send checks or cash.
All students will preview the Book Fair to make their Wish Lists on Fri Jan 31 or Mon Feb 3. They will bring their list home with prices. They can shop before and during school all week.
Create an eWallet and share with family and friends, so your student can shop with electronic funds at the Book Fair. You don’t have to worry about lost cash, checks, or change.

Social Intelligence
This week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Social Intelligence. Social intelligence means understanding other people's thoughts and feelings and why they act the way they do.
Social intelligence helps us build good relationships by being aware of others’ emotions and behaviors. It is different from "book smarts" and grows with experience. It also allows people to connect, form friendships, and protect themselves from being taken advantage of. It also helps us read facial expressions and understand what motivates others.
To practice and encourage the character strength of social intelligence at home, please visit The Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families (available in English and Spanish), where you will watch a video together and discuss a quote and three questions. Below are links to this week’s P2 for Families lessons. Click on the grade level that best meets your child’s needs.
Thank you for your support!

Parent and Student Lunch!
Please only select ONE time period per family. This allows two families an option each day to have lunch with their children.
We are excited to offer the opportunity for parents and visitors to have lunch with students once again. However, in order to ensure safety, manage space limitations, and to ensure the process is successful we must maintain guidelines and expectations for logistics. Please read the expectations and logistics on the sign up.
