We Want Your Feedback!
Over the last month, the Calendar Committee developed and narrowed down options for the official BISD 2025-2026 academic calendar. We encourage all parents/guardians, employees, and secondary students to take a moment and review the two calendar options presented. Emails with unique feedback links from K12 Insight went out November 19.
The calendar with the most votes will be presented to the BISD Board of Trustees for approval on Monday, December 16.
Kindness Week
Good for the Sole
Herff Student Council is happy to partner again this year with "Good for the Sole"! This is a charitable organization dedicated to collecting, cleaning, boxing, and giving away gently used pairs of sneakers to children in need. This organization was founded by one of our very own Boerne ISD students, Noah Patton a 2024 high school graduate! On November 1st there will be a donation bin on our campus where you can drop off gently used shoes! Thank you in advance for your support of this extraordinary project!

Ice Cream Wednesday
Every Wednesday our students have an opportunity to purchase ice cream for $1.00 during lunch. As a reminder, money for ice cream purchases can be put on your child's lunch account; in other words, you don't have to send cash 🙃
Our students and Herff cafeteria staff need your help in order for this process to run smoothly. We need one volunteer from 10:10-11:20 to assist with Pre-K through 1st grade and one volunteer form 11:20-1:00 to assist with 2nd through 5th grade.
Lunch Times are:
PreK 10:50-11:20
Kinder 10:20-10:50
1st Grade 10:50-11:20
2nd Grade 11:20-11:50
3rd Grade 12:30-1:00
4th Grade 12:00-12:30
5th Grade 11:50-12:20
Yearbook Orders!
Pre-K Donations
If you are cleaning out your toy boxes in the coming weeks, our PK classrooms would appreciate the donation of:
Cars or toys with wheels
Action figures or people
Different types of balls
Pool noodles
Legos
Wrapping paper
The Giving Closet
As you all know, we have some students here at Herff who are not as fortunate as most and need a little extra love and support from us as a Hawk family. To better serve our students and help every student feel the best about themselves, we would like to establish a Giving Closet to provide a resource to students in need to have access to new and gently used clothes and shoes. If a child receives an item, the teacher will use their discretion as to whether or not to notify the parent that their child will be coming home with a new item of clothing that does not need to be returned. Students may visit the closet at whatever time the teacher deems appropriate so as to not interfere with the instructional day or single out the child for needing support.
If you have any clothes your kids have outgrown that you would like to donate to help us get our closet started (and keep it going in the future), we would greatly appreciate it. Any items can be dropped off to the behavior classroom before and after school.
The Giving Closet will be maintained by Behavior Unit and Life Skills staff.
