Your Input Matters: Help Us Support Our Students!
At Foothills Elementary, we are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for every student. To help us better understand and address the needs of our community, our Behavior Leadership Team has developed a short, anonymous survey.
We would greatly appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to share your thoughts and experiences. Your feedback will help us tailor our strategies to meet the unique needs of our students and families.

Thank you for your time and valuable input. Together, we can make Foothills Elementary an even better place for our students to learn and grow!
Ridership Bus Survey
Dear White River Families,
As we work to enhance the White River School District’s transportation services and improve our car pick up and drop off systems, we would like to better understand your family’s transportation choices. We recognize that each family’s needs are unique, and your feedback is invaluable in helping us support options for all students. Please take a moment to complete this survey and share your experience. Your input will help us identify ways to improve our transportation system. Thank you for your time and valuable insights! This is an anonymous survey but you may enter your name and email at the end of the survey if you would like us to contact you for any reason. The survey is open Friday, January 10, 2025 - Friday, January 24, 2025.
Change of Pick Up Plan?
If you need a change of dismissal plan for your child, please call the office before 2:30. Calls or voicemails left after 2:30 may not get communicated, so please let us know as early as possible! Thank you for your help with this!

Foothills Priority Goal: Attendance
Attending school during the winter months can be especially difficult. However, with some pre-planning, there are things you can do to help support. Please read the flyers below on promoting positive attendance in the winter. One is in English and one is in Spanish. Reach out to us at 360-829-3355 if we can support you in any way.

Foothills PTA is the BEST
Right now they are looking to fill:
President
Secretary
Treasurer
Social Media Chair*
Fundraiser Chair*
Events Chair*
Book Fair Chair*
*The Chair positions are minimal time needed. You are just helping put those things together along with a committee of people. The main Board positions do require some more time and commitment from you. But it's a lot of fun and a great way to meet some new people!
They need a PTA and they need awesome people like YOU to help keep it going! Let them know how you think you can help! Foothllselempta@gmail.com
Social Responsibility: December & January Focus
We are continuing to focus on Social Responsibility throughout January as part of the Washington State SEL Standards! Social Responsibility plays a vital role in creating a supportive, inclusive school environment where students can thrive as compassionate, collaborative, and engaged citizens.
What is Social Responsibility?
Social Responsibility means choosing actions that positively impact others, contribute to the greater good, and foster a safe and welcoming community. By practicing Social Responsibility, students learn to work effectively with others, respect diverse perspectives, and take ownership of their actions.
Examples of Social Responsibility:
- Positive Words and Actions: Being thoughtful about how we communicate and act toward others helps build trust and mutual respect.
- Respect and Integrity: Speaking respectfully and being honest strengthens relationships and creates a foundation for teamwork.
- Empathy and Understanding: Showing kindness and respecting others’ experiences fosters a culture of acceptance and care.
- Self-Management: Managing emotions, impulses, and behaviors positively contributes to personal growth and a harmonious environment.
How Families Can Support Social Responsibility at Home:
You can nurture Social Responsibility in simple ways at home:
- Work Together: Encourage your child to take part in household responsibilities or assist a sibling with a task. Show how teamwork makes everyone’s lives better.
- Spread Kindness: Inspire small acts of kindness, like sharing a smile, helping a neighbor, or writing notes of appreciation to friends or family.
- Model Problem-Solving: Use everyday situations to demonstrate how to resolve conflicts constructively by listening, sharing perspectives, and finding common ground.
- Discuss Community Impact: Talk about the importance of actions like recycling, conserving energy, or volunteering and how these efforts help the community and the planet.
Celebrating Social Responsibility at School:
This month, we’ll continue to spotlight students who exemplify Social Responsibility during our Falcon of the Month assemblies. These students will be celebrated for their contributions to making our school a safe, kind, and collaborative community.
Thank you for supporting your child in growing as a socially responsible member of our school and beyond. Together, we’re building a generation of thoughtful, caring leaders!
The skills we work on come from the WA state standards for Social Emotional Learning. You can learn more here: https://ospi.k12.wa.us/student-success/resources-subject-area/social-emotional-learning-sel
