Staff members submit Panther PAWSitive referrals to Mrs. Deacon whenever they choose, to acknowledge any student whom they feel has set an example or demonstrated improvement in the development of positive social-emotional skills. Every referral is then displayed on our new mural space in the building to share with our PHS family!
The following students were referred by a staff member during the month of APRIL,
so THANK YOU for your efforts towards becoming a positive role model at PHS and spreading Panther PAWSitivity!
- Abigail Morgan, grade 9
"Abby is such a hard working student with a bubbly personality that is welcome in any class. She works hard to get her work done before it is due to ensure that if she has questions, she has time to go over them and understand whatever it is that she is learning, better. I can always count on Abby to participate in class and to speak and practice as much Spanish as possible. Students like Abby deserve praise and credit for this kind of work ethic."

- Michael Bluford, grade 10
"Mikey has really stepped up his game over the past month in math. He has been putting forth great effort in class and has proven to himself how successful he truly can be. Keep up the great work, so you can finish the year strong!"

- Sean Monteith grade 10
"There isn't enough space to list all of Sean's attributes! What a remarkable young man! I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to see Sean's growth from sixth to tenth grades. His passion for analyzing literature mirrors my own, and it is a pleasure to discuss texts with him on such a sophisticated level. With pride, I will look forward to his future successes."

- Margarite Wolf, grade 10
"What a pleasure it is to teach Margarite! She is always pleasant and personable. I appreciate that she is always willing to participate during her remote learning situation. While always striving for her best, Margarite has shown growth and success in English 10."

- Catriona Galvin, grade 11
"Catriona is such a hard working and dedicated person and student, and I always enjoy listening to her opinions in class. She has such an incredible way of formulating her responses with care and has such a passion for social justice that it shapes her conversations to ones of great importance. I always enjoy listening to her and reading her work on an array of topics that we discuss, and I think she is simply amazing for being able to do all of this in a second language. Catriona, you should be so proud of all you have accomplished in Spanish 3H and 4H!!"

- Amelia Hamm, grade 11
"Amelia has been a delight to get to know through the years! She's a fantastic student academically, participates in our class events, is always willing to work hard, and she does it all with a smile. I just yesterday found out that on top of all her hard work in those areas, she holds down a job too! (Sorry I had to ask who was under the mask). Keep up all the hard work Amelia, because it will serve you well in life!!"

- Angelina Harris, grade 11:
"Angelina is just one of my absolute favorite students! She is wonderfully patient, kind and hard working and I always enjoy having her be part of our class. She works incredibly hard to improve herself and her Spanish, and is so dedicated to making sure that she is always growing. I hope she realizes what she brings to a classroom despite our hybrid learning situation this year. Angelina, I can't wait to see what you do in Spanish 4H next year! Keep up the awesome work!"

- Reese Whitley, grade 11
"Reese is such a wonderfully easy going person who is always happy to participate in class and put herself out there, which I think is just fabulous. I can always count on her to bring positivity to the class period and I think that is a quality worth noting, especially during this specific school year of hybrid learning. Keep up that positive attitude Reese! It is a wonderful trait!!"

- Owen Post, grade 12
"I am so impressed with Owen's maturity and work ethic this year. He is always willing to share with the class when called upon, but most impressive, Owen takes initiative to make up absent work without being asked. The fact that he does require a reminder shows he is taking pride in his work and is very responsible. These are all desirable traits in the real world after high school. All these "soft skills" mentioned will get him far in life. Owen, keep up the hard work, I am very proud of you!"
