Meet the Hancocks!
The Hancocks were the first family to re-enroll with Frontier for the 2024-2025 school year. They are swimmers, musicians, aspiring pilots and avid builders. They are also a military family.
Here are a few thoughts from Mom, Heidi, and the kids themselves.
Hi. We’re the Hancock family. We’ve homeschooled from the beginning. Each of our kids have experienced going off to school at some point in their education but have all decided homeschool is their favorite. It may not be perfect all of the time, but overall, it’s just been a great opportunity for our family to learn and explore together. We love to read, do hands-on or game-style learning, play outside, sing and play instruments together, read poetry and jokes, and laugh a lot. Here are some thoughts from the children.
Ivory: We get to do really fun stuff like “queen for a day,” medieval feasts, learning about ears, and other stuff.
Jacob: We’re learning about ships. We watched a video about people making a Viking ship using axes, not saws, to cut the wood. When they went to the forest, they made sure to find the wood that had the right curves for their ships.
Benjamin: I like that I get to read interesting books.
Levi: I like my aviation class. I’m learning about airplanes and how to fly.
National Merit Scholar
After months of applications, interviews, tons of paperwork and lots of prayer, Josiah Tshibaka was selected this week as a National Merit Scholar! About 1.6 million students from 22,000 high schools enter the race, about 7,000 students are selected. Top .5% in the nation! Josiah is president of the Frontier Charter Student Government and also a member of the Frontier Charter National Honor Society.
CONGRATULATIONS JOSIAH!
