Principal Weekly Update to Families
December 16, 2024
January 10, 2025
Dear Disney Families,
Report cards will be in your child's backpack today. Please take some time to look over the report card with you child. As a building, Disney's student's growth this last semester was significantly higher than other schools in the state that have similar demographics as Disney. This is a huge celebration. Our focus this semester will be to continue to support and challenge each student.
Tonight is Jam the Gym at Millard South. All Disney students will get in free and receive free concessions. The first 150 students will get a free T-shirt.
Upcoming Events:
- January 13 - 5th Gr. parents - Bridge to College Parent Meeting at Central Middle School @ 6:00
- January 13 - PTO meeting @ 5:45 in Disney Library
- January 20 - No School - Teacher Professional Learning Day
- January 23 - Bounce U from 4:30-7:30
If you do not want to wait inline, we recommend you preregister and pay using the QR code.
Parents must stay on the premises and supervise their children. This is not a drop off and pick up later event.
There will be pizza to purchase for $1 a slice while supplies last. Exact change is appreciated.
Socks are required to jump.
As always, we welcome any questions, concerns, or celebrations you may have.
Sincerely,
Dr. Cindy Scharff
Bridge to Early College Program @ Central Middle School
This program is designed as a preparatory program for Early College High School at Millard South. This year, CMS will only have an electronic application which is a Google Form and can be accessed here. Applications are due January 23 and will not be taking late applications as that puts a strain on our acceptance process. Here is an Information Page on our website that has links to all of this information as well.
The Patriot Basketball Club is seeking your help in encouraging your students to register for our upcoming tryouts! Details on the dates and times can be found in the attached flyer.

Last year, we proudly launched teams for 1st and 2nd grades, and the feedback from parents about our program’s structure and coaching has been overwhelmingly positive. As we continue to grow, we’re excited to expand our presence across all Millard South feeder schools.
Our goal is to provide Millard students with the chance to play competitive basketball on teams tailored to all skill levels. Every player is matched with the right team and coach to support their growth and development.
Parent Powered For All Parents
As part of our Millard community, we are offering an opportunity for you to receive weekly evidence based family engagement and learning activities you can embed in your daily routines through text messages from Parent Powered. With your permission, Parent Powered will send you a weekly short text message with a quick fact, tip, and growth activity focused on social skill, language, or literacy development customized for your child/children’s age. Each family can receive up to 3 texts a week for children birth through 8th grade with your enrollment. Although the information will be coming to you directly through text, you will not incur any text fees, it is completely free of charge to our families through Millard programs.
