The Educational Benefit Review Process
The Individualized Education Program (IEP) is the cornerstone of quality education for each child with a disability. It creates the opportunity for staff, parents, related service providers, community members, and students to work together to improve educational results. We will give updated information on state requirements for IEP development. Participants will analyze their own IEP’s, check for alignment, complete hands-on activities, and work with groups to generate ideas for completing a compliant IEP. The IEP will be linked to the EBR process. The purpose of the Educational Benefit Review (EBR) is to determine if a student’s IEP is reasonably calculated for the student to receive educational benefit.
