Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief is hosting a volunteer training day at FBC Weatherford on Saturday, September 16 at 9:00 a.m. Anytime there is a natural disaster nearby our Disaster Relief Team mobilizes to go and serve. There are all kinds of jobs needed including debris removal, mud-outs, damage assessment, chainsaw crew, providing meals, first aid, laundry, childcare, and chaplaincy. Volunteers must be an active member of a local Southern Baptist Church, in good physical condition, and at least 18 years of age. If your are interested in this ministry, attend the training on Saturday, September 16 at FBC Weatherford.

Let me remind you of our upcoming Deacon Ordination on Sunday night, September 17 at 5:00. Plan to join us for a special time of worship as we appoint our newest deacons to serve our Church Family.

The following week, September 24, we will move our morning worship service to Crowder Lake - with a potluck brunch at 10:00 a.m. followed by worship and baptisms. That evening at 6:00 p.m. we will be back in our building for Sunday Night Seminary as we tackle New Testament 1 - an overview of the first 5 books of the N.T. There is no cost for this seminary course. Everyone is welcome to come and learn!

Finally, don’t forget to pick up the 2 resources on the back table for our Fall sermon series. The small book is free and one per person. The blue book costs $10 and is one per family. I’m looking forward to learning more about What We Believe and Why We Believe It together with you this Fall.

If you were recently saved and/or baptized, join Pastor Clint on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:30 to learn how to pursue your new life in Christ. This class will meet each Sunday during the month of October in Room 210 (upstairs next to the Church Office).

We are leaving at 8am and plan to return from Edmond around 6pm.

Cost: $20 + money for a meal.

The $20 will cover the entrance fee, lunch, and a t-shirt.

Society tells young ladies they have to be "extra" or the "main character", but how does following Jesus change that? Join us for Basic as we take a look at how Jesus makes us different and how that impacts how we interact with those around us.

Join us as we ordain our new deacons.

Sunday, September 17 at 5pm. We will have an ordination service, immediately followed by a reception.

Emmanuel Baptist Church is launching a new ministry called Embrace Grace. This group provides emotional, practical, and spiritual support for single, young pregnant women who find themselves in an unexpected pregnancy.

The primary goal of Embrace Grace is to empower the church to be a safe and nonjudgmental place for these young women to run to when they find out they are pregnant. It is a 12-week program that teaches them about God's love and grace. At the end we will give them a baby shower to honor them for choosing life and to help provide for their baby’s needs.

We need your help! Would you prayerfully consider coming along side us as we launch this ministry? You can serve weekly in the group meetings, give rides, sign up to bring a meal, or serve at the events that are a part of this program.
