The Finish Line Is in View!
To our 5th Graders!
CONGRATULATIONS!
The foundation has been set as you begin your next chapter. There will be easy and hard days ahead as you continue to form the chapters of your life. However, like in this chapter, we all know you will persevere. As you continue onward you will take many lessons and memories with you. No matter what you confront in the many chapters that are to come. Never forget to
Be Safe, Be Kind, and Be Respectful!
Congratulations 2024 BHIS TIGERS!
Continue to make us proud!
BHIS STAFF
To our 5th grade parents:
A great way for students to get involved in Middle School is to PLAY SPORTS!
All 5th graders will need a physician’s physical in order to play sports in Middle School and in High School.
The physical is good for 2 years and it is best to get done now instead of in September!
Students can be seen at BHIS through our partnership with Children’s Hospital.
Please email Victoria Reyes Rojas at virojasreyes@seattleschools.org to set up an appointment.
Here is the form you will need to turn into your Middle School: https://www.seattleschools.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Student-Physical-Participation-History.Exam-ADA.pdf
If you have any other questions, you can email Heather at hmgraves@seattleschools.org

Food Bank Delivery Drivers Needed!
We are currently still looking for folks to help deliver groceries to our families in Beacon Hill on Wednesdays. Summers can be really hard as many people travel during the summer break. We want to make sure that we can still get food to families in need. No amount is too big or too small. Even if you can only deliver every other week, we are willing to work with your schedule. If this is something that you can help out with, please reach out to Adam at adam.kennedy@beaconhillpta.org
WE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU!
If you have been receiving groceries delivered on Wednesday, you will soon notice a flyer in your bag asking you if you want to continue with our program. You can email adam.kennedy@beaconhillpta.org or mdhalverson@seattleschools.org if you wish to cancel or continue with the program.
BHIS's International Day Food Sign Up!
Time is approaching for BHIS's biggest celebration of the year! To make this celebration a success, we hope that every one of you provides a dish that represents your family. Below you will find a link to sign up for your dish, beverage or dessert. So, mark your calendar for June 14th at 2:30p - 5:00p at The Beacon Hill Playfield.
Message From Our PTA!
Update on Spirit Wear!
A huge thank you to everyone who donated to our spirit wear fundraiser! We met our fundraising goal and will be able to gift t-shirts to every BHIS staff member as a thank you for the amazing work that they do day in and day out! We were also able to buy lots of extras to gift to families who cannot afford spiritwear at this time. Thank you, thank you! If you ordered spiritwear, it will be delivered to your oldest child’s classroom by mid-June.
PTA Volunteer Opportunities!
We’ve updated our website with a list of volunteer opportunities to support the BHIS PTA next school year. The PTA cannot operate without the volunteer support of our parent and caregiver community. New next year: elected officers will be eligible to receive up to a $500 stipend per position! Please take a look and sign up to support our work!
2024/2025 PTA Membership Drive!
Joining as a PTA member is a way to show your support of BHIS and the work of our teachers. Members receive regular updates with opportunities for involvement, along with a slate of benefits through the Washington State PTA that can be found here.
Budget, Standing Rules and Leadership Vote!
Please put June 7 at 8 a.m. on your calendar for the final Principal/PTA chat of the year and the final PTA meeting. In our meeting, we will be voting on next year’s PTA budget, standing rules, and leadership. Interested in putting your name forward for a leadership position? Please email info@beaconhillpta.org
Red Apple Receipts!
Please drop off all your Red Apple Receipts by the end of the school year so that they may be counted! Red Apple will donate 1% of all receipts back to the PTA. Receipts can be dropped off in any of the PTA mailboxes, or in the red box by the front office.
School Supply Drive!
One of the PTA’s key actions each year is to provide school supplies to every classroom, teacher, and student at BHIS! Annually, the PTA gifts the school $15,000 to purchase these supplies. We rely on donations from the BHIS and local community to support this effort - please consider donating to support school supplies for next year now!
THANK YOU!
Thank you to all the volunteers and donors who have made this year possible for the PTA! We are so proud of the work the PTA has accomplished this year and it would not be possible without your support.
