From the Desk of Mrs. Del Prete
Dear Bobcat Families,
Happy April! Spring is in full swing, and we are entering a busy and exciting time at Bridgeview School. This month brings many opportunities for learning, growth, and celebration as we continue working together to support our students.
State Testing Information
April is an important month for our students. All 3rd - 6th Graders will take the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR). In addition, our 5th graders will that the Illinois Science Assessment (ISA). These assessments provide valuable insights into student progress and help us ensure we are meeting the academic needs of all learners. We encourage all students to be present, well-rested, and ready to do their best.
Here are some helpful tips to support your child during testing:
Ensure they get a good night's sleep before each test.
Provide a healthy breakfast to start the day right.
Arrive at school on time to minimize stress.
Encourage them to do their best and remind them that these tests are just one measure of their learning.
Specific testing dates for each grade level are listed in the graphic below. Thank you for your partnership in making this a positive experience for our students!
We appreciate your continued support and look forward to a fantastic month of learning and achievement. As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Thank you for all you do to support our school community!

~with someone you love! And EVERYONE sure loved this event! Over 100 students and families gathered to play Bingo on Thursday, March 6. Every child went home with a new book and other prizes. "Please always have this event" was insisted!!
Beginning and Intermediate Orchestra Concert
The week of March 11 was very exciting for the Band and Orchestra students of District 109. Bridgeview Bobcat Musicians performed on March 11 and 12. Intermediate Orchestra student Sophia R. performed the most beautiful violin solo!
Lollipop Pull
As a fundraiser towards education supplies and materials for Bridgeview Elementary students, girls and boys participated in a lollipop pull. $1.00 could buy a lollipop. Many of the lollipops had a color on the bottom of the stick. When students pulled those they got to select a bigger prize! I wish you could hear the excitement in the halls each morning! Here you see the Squishmallow that Amelia K. picked!!

Following procedures from last year, we have an online form for attendance reporting. While guardians will still be able to call in, we are also offering an attendance form for families to submit attendance digitally. If your student will be absent, please use this Attendance Reporting Form or call us at 708-496-8713 to report the absence.
Thank you!

Don't Be Late!
8:10AM 1st Bell
8:15AM Tardy Bell
2:30PM School Dismissed
All students arriving late to school (after 8:15AM) must report to the office for a tardy slip. Every 5th tardy a note will be sent home. Continuous tardiness may constitute other disciplinary consequences. Our goal is for all students to arrive at school on time each day. When students are late, they miss instructional opportunities. Please keep in mind that students arriving after 9:15AM are no longer considered tardy, but will instead receive a half day absence.
Being late is detrimental to all students' learning, especially if it occurs on a consistent basis. Be sure to do all you can to prevent tardiness. Your child will thank you for it!
