This Week at École OLPH School
December 16 to 20, 2024
Our Mission Statement
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School
Our Lady of Perpetual Help school is committed to quality education in both official languages fostering in our students respect for life and learning as Christ taught us.
Principal Message
Dear Parents and Students of Our Lady of Perpetual Help,
This weekend, we celebrate the third Sunday of Advent—Gaudete Sunday, a time to rejoice as we draw closer to the joy of Christ’s coming at Christmas. The rose-colored candle on the Advent wreath reminds us of the hope and gladness that the season brings, even as we remain busy with preparations.
Next week also marks the final week of school before Christmas break and the close of 2024. While there’s much excitement in the air, we’re still open for business, and our business is learning! We hope our students are ready for a joyful yet productive week as we wrap up lessons and activities in anticipation of the holidays.
Finally, the important part: May the spirit of Gaudete Sunday fill your hearts with joy and gratitude as we enter these final days of Advent together.
In Christ,
Mr. Johnson
Principal

Dear École Our Lady of Perpetual Help School Families,
We are thrilled to announce that our school choir, the École Our Lady of Perpetual Help School Choir, has been invited to perform the Canadian National Anthem on the ice for the Edmonton Oil Kings’ game on Saturday, January 11, at 7:00 p.m.!
To make this opportunity possible, we are required to sell a minimum of 100 tickets for the event.
We invite you to join us in supporting our choir and enjoying an exciting evening of hockey! In addition to attending yourself, this is a perfect opportunity to give the gift of an experience to someone on your Christmas list. Tickets to this special event make a thoughtful and unique holiday present, giving your loved ones a memorable evening to enjoy while supporting our talented students.
If you would like to purchase tickets, $20.00/ticket, please complete the attached order form below and return it along with payment by cash or cheque payable to Edmonton Arena Corp. All orders and payments must be submitted by December 13, 2024 to Mme Winland in the school office, and not to your homeroom teacher. Tickets will be sent home with your child once your order is processed.
This is a wonderful chance for our students to showcase their talent and represent our school community on a big stage. We hope to see many of you there cheering them on!
Thank you for your support, and let’s make this a memorable event for our choir and our school!
