Tumuaki Korero
Kia ora e te whānau,
The mornings are certainly getting chillier, and with winter upon us, it brings a wave of seasonal bugs. If your child is unwell, please do keep them home to rest and recover — it helps keep everyone safe and well. Relievers are becoming harder to secure, and staff illness can make it challenging to keep our classrooms running smoothly.
We’re looking forward to our Matariki celebration next week, where we’ll come together for a shared kai and take part in some Matariki-inspired activities. All whānau and friends are warmly invited to join us for this special occasion.
A huge thank you to Nia and Luka’s mum for the generous donation of gumboots for our tamariki to borrow — perfect for muddy winter play in te taiao! Please remember to send your child with a change of clothes and gumboots where possible, so they can continue to enjoy outdoor play without the worry of soggy uniforms.
You may have seen a letter come home about a slight change to our mid-year reporting and the Board’s decision around how we’ll continue to report student progress. If you have any questions, please feel free to speak with your child’s teacher or pop in for a chat with me.
Our Cross Country, postponed due to last week’s weather, will now take place this Friday, 13 June. Ness will be sending home notices today for those keen to participate. Don’t worry if your child isn’t into running just yet — we’ll be holding our own fun run later in the year, with whānau participation encouraged!
Stay warm and take care.
Me mahi tahi tātau mō te oranga o te katoa.
Working together for all to succeed, nobody is left behind
Ngā manaakitanga,
