Reading/ Language Arts
We will read the story "An Orange in January". Sight words of the week is--with & he. Letter sounds this week are F & R initial (the beginning of words). We will learn about main idea and key details. The kids are loving the "Elvis Challenge" where I play the "All Shook Up" song and I shake all the sticks with their names on them. I pick 1 kid every day to see how many of the sight words they know (but we all practice them silently in their heads). So keep practicing all the words on the back of the orange folders.
Math
We will play guess my number game, do calendar time, Chomputation tests, count with calculators, measurement with Children's feet, and plan some 100 day activities.
Writing- We will learn about organization, beginning, middle & ending in our writing.
Specials class this Wednesday will be a Friday rotation.
Attention Parents:

Thank you to those people who have sent in pillowcases so far. I have gotten about 7, so please continue to send them in if you have done so.
Mrs. Mac, Kindergarden Teacher
Please help your child become more independent by learning to tie their shoes and zip their jackets.
Please remember to check the weather and dress your child to go outside. It's getting colder, but we will go outside, if it's not raining or snowing. We will go outside unless the wind chill is 0 or below.
Keepsake Pillowcase Poem & Autographs!
We are going to be doing an end of the year project that will require a brand new, white, standard size pillowcase. We will be signing these pillowcases in class so you should expect them to come back as a fun keepsake for your student. Please send in a pillowcase by Jan. 11, 2016. We will also take donations of pillowcases so everyone has one. Mrs. Mac will type and iron on a poem as well.
