TTES VISITORS & VOLUNTEERS
Application and Clearance Process
We are very excited to welcome volunteers to our sites beginning March 15, 2022. However, we must do this in a way that ensures we are following state and county protocols, which includes monitoring/tracking important information of volunteers on our campus. If you are interested in volunteering, we would love to have you support our students’ and staff's needs.
Volunteers will need to complete the application process through the Raptor System - linked here. Please continue to read below for further details on the process. We appreciate your patience as we transition to this new system for processing our volunteers. We are excited to welcome you back and greatly appreciate our community’s support.
Warmly,
Lisa Brown, Kathy Farfan, and Garrick Stein

Volunteer ~ A volunteer is someone who comes to our campus on a continual or regular basis and is in direct contact with students.
Please make sure you bring photo identification with you every time you are signing in as a visitor or volunteer.
Flag Salute
Flag Salute is the exception to this rule. Beginning Wednesday, March 16th we invite families to attend our morning Flag Salute Assemblies, which begin at 8:55 a.m every Wednesday. The entry gate will open at 8:40 a.m., and we kindly ask that all visits enter through the same gate as all students, please do not check-in at the front office for these assemblies.
All visitors will be provided with a sticker as they enter the gate, and please ensure that you wear the sticker at all times while on our campus. Our Flag Salute Assembly includes school announcements and special recognitions of students and lasts approximately 15 minutes. Once the assembly is over, please exit the same gate that you entered in a timely manner as we will be locking the gates.

Please know that the District, in accordance with guidelines and mandates from the California Department of Public Health, is mandated to collect either a) proof of vaccination or b) recent COVID-19 test prior to the volunteer event. The District provides COVID-19 testing free of charge to our parent community members. This test must be from a verified healthcare facility and must be dated within 7 days of your volunteer day. Home tests are not acceptable for this requirement. Please contact Health Services to schedule an appointment (951) 294-6050.
The District can also provide TB screening as part of this process. For questions, please contact our Health Services Division at healthservices@tvusd.us.
FAQ's
I want to volunteer...my application is complete...now what?
Please reach out to your child's classroom teacher to express interest in volunteering. The teacher will put together a schedule for volunteers and specific dates/times will be assigned for those interested in volunteering. Each teacher will coordinate their own volunteer schedule and communicate with interested families regarding when they can come to volunteer.
Volunteers make such a positive impact on our students, our classrooms, and our campus! We are excited to welcome our volunteers back to Tony Tobin!!
May I walk my student to class in the morning?
I have an extra hour today, is it ok if I drop in and see if the teacher needs help?
When a volunteer arrives at an unplanned time, the teacher may not have anything prepared for the volunteer to complete and it can be disruptive to instructional time for the teacher to stop instruction in order to quickly prepare something for the parent.
May I come on campus and have lunch with my child during their lunchtime?
I want to volunteer but have a preschooler at home. Can I bring them with me when I volunteer?
