GMA Quest Clubs

Welcome to the 2021 Fall GMA Quest Clubs Program.

It is my great privilege to present you with a variety of club options that provide enrichment for our students as we continue to develop the mind, body, and spirit of our students. It is with great pride to share the deep passions and all of the wonderful talents of the faculty, staff, and close friends of GMA that have developed these programs to share with our children.

Quest Club offerings for the Fall of 2021 are listed below. Please be sure to click the link at the bottom of this newsletter to register. Registration is due by 3 PM this Friday, October 1. Students will not be able to participate in clubs until all registration paperwork is completed and full payment is submitted. All clubs are on a first come first served basis and space is limited.

Quest Clubs run on the dates listed in the offerings descriptions. Clubs run from 3:30-4:30. Pickup will take place on the green top. Students that are pre-registered may be dismissed to CARES. Please direct any specific questions to the instructors offering the courses.

Gwynedd-Mercy Academy Elementary

After School Dance is a recreational after school program for GMA students in grades kindergarten through grade 4. Classes include ballet, and jazz.

Dancers are brought to the stage at school dismissal time and brought to the green top or taken to CARES after dance class.

Dancers should wear their GMA gym uniform to school on the days they have After School Dance. Students will not be changing prior to Dance Class. Please have your child's name on all clothing. Dancers will need ballet shoes. These shoes will not be worn, they are to be brought to school. They may also bring jazz shoes, but they are not required.

After School Dance will conclude with a Spring Recital in 2022. The date of the recital will be provided once finalized. Returning dancers will be automatically registered for the QUEST Winter session if they wish to participate in the recital. Payment will be required for the additional sessions. There are additional costume fees which are usually between $45 and $75 for students wishing to participate in the recital. Costume information will be sent home after classes begin.

Get your Mickey Ears ready to take a deep dive into the wonder world of Disney! Movies, music and imagineering, we will explore it all during our time together. Using our STEAM skills and our bountiful creativity, we will create Disney inspired crafts, snacks and more! Each day, we will celebrate a different Disney theme!

Day: Mondays

Dates: 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, 11/8, and 11/15

Cost: $165

Why do yoga? Yoga helps children get stronger, more flexible, more focused and more relaxed. From the basic poses like mountain, triangle, warrior, downward and upward dog to playful fun poses like pyramid, eagle, dancer, and upside-down gorilla, the children develop resilience, concentration, and self-esteem.

Come get stretchy, bendy, and strong with Mrs. Reeves

A mat is required.

Calling all Scientists! The Science Exploration Club includes a variety of hands-on activities for our little ones to enjoy. Problem solving, creating and exploring while having fun with our classmates and friends.

Join Mrs. Sweeney and Mrs. Cressman as we travel the world of Art using various media and artist inspiration to celebrate creativity.

Join Professor McGonagall, also known as Mrs. Phiambolis, as we turn GMA into Hogwarts. In Harry Potter Club, we will discuss the books, watch movie clips, compete in trivia contests, and make Harry Potter STEM projects, such as light-up wands, fuse bead characters and more!

Kindness and Works of Mercy are the focus of our Friends of Mercy Club for students in 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade Students discover the joy in reaching out to others as we continue this engaging club.

Students will discover creative and fun ways to show mercy. This group will bring their own creativity and ideas to spread mercy and kindness. They will be given an opportunity to choose and plan the projects they feel called to and/or have a connection with. Projects will reach both in and outside of the Mercy community with ties to the Critical Concerns of the Sisters of Mercy.
