WEEKLY PREVIEW
September 22, 2024
Message from Mr. Zeman
Thank you for attending Curriculum Night this past week. As I shared in my short intro video, we create the best opportunities for your students to grow as learners and Longwood community members when we work together. Let’s continue to stay in close communication and help our learners embrace the fun and challenges that will make them the best versions of themselves possible.
📸 PICTURE DAY is Wednesday! 📸
🏀 New Basketball Hoop - Thank you, PTA! 🍎
Thanks to a generous donation from the Longwood PTA a SECOND basketball hoop was installed this week!
Reminder: Basketballs, footballs, and other sports equipment from home must stay at home. We have plenty of gear for students to use at school. If students want to enjoy the hoops after school, students are asked to go directly home first, check in with their family, then can return to school. The blacktop and playground are closed for play during arrival (8:45-9:15) and dismissal (3:25-3:50). We appreciate your support!

We’re thrilled to partner with Pawsitive Therapy Troupe, a local organization, to offer a unique opportunity for our students.
Longwood’s “Paws and Tales” program has been designed to create a positive and calming environment for our students to practice their reading and emotional regulation skills.
Goals of the Program:
- Encourage a love of reading
- Enhance reading fluency and/or comprehension skills
- Provide emotional support and stress relief
- Foster a positive school experience
Pawsitive Therapy Troupe will visit Longwood once per month on Tuesdays from 2:00-3:15 pm. Students are selected for participation on a rotating basis and have a 10 minute visit with one of the service animals.
