RES Weekly Buzz
Welcome to the New School Year!
The faculty and staff at RES are THRILLED to welcome you to the new school year! We hope you have had a terrific and fun-filled summer with your friends and family and are ready for this year's exciting journey! We look forward to a successful and enjoyable school year with you.
Our teachers are excited to give their students the best year ahead! We are grateful for their enthusiasm and dedication to their jobs and students. We are also thankful to our custodial staff, who has been hard at work preparing our school building for opening day! THANK YOU!
We will continue to promote a school culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and respect within our community. We believe in the importance of a strong partnership between home and school, and your active engagement in your child’s education, open lines of communication, and participation in school activities and events are valued. Together, we can provide the support and guidance our students need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally, ensuring every child feels included and valued.
We encourage you to stay connected with our school through our Weekly Buzz, sent out each Friday afternoon. The Buzz contains information about upcoming events, school lunches, community events, and more! Please do not hesitate to contact our staff members with any questions or concerns. You can also find information on our district website, www.rpk12.org.
As we kick off this new school year, we want to thank families for their continued support in all we do here at RES to ensure students thrive in every way possible. Let's welcome this new academic year with enthusiasm and determination to achieve great things. Together, we will overcome obstacles, celebrate achievements, and create a thriving learning community where every student can flourish.

RES Drop-Off Procedures
Parents/guardians should drop students off in the “drop-off lane” located on the right, curbside, at the front of the elementary school. Pull your vehicle up as far as possible so other vehicles can join the drop-off line. Please pull over to the right and allow a staff member to assist your child exiting your vehicle. Stay to the right, as traffic may pass you in the left-hand lane. Please remain in your car when dropping off your child; there is no parking in the drop-off zone. When pulling away from the school, please look to your left; other cars may already be in the traveling lane.
RES Pick-Up Procedures
Students who take the bus will be dismissed immediately at 3:00 pm. The buses will be in front of the school, please do not idle, park, or block the pick-up lane, as buses have the right of way at school dismissal time. Students who are “walkers” who walk home or are being picked up at school will be dismissed at 3:03 pm from the following areas:
- Kindergarten and Grade 1:
- East side doors (F3) near the RES gymnasium.
- Grades 2 and 3:
- East side recess doors (F8) near the basketball court and the school playground, closest
to the 2nd grade classrooms.
- Grades 4 and 5:
- North side doors (H2) at the rear of the building, closest to the 5th grade classrooms.
Classroom teachers would appreciate if you use this Transportation Form to help guide your child in the right direction at the end of the school day. If you are unable to print, a note with the requested information is great!

WELCOME BACK FROM THE RES HEALTH OFFICE
If your child needs a medication, inhaler, or Epi-Pen in school for the 2024-2025 school year, new forms are required to be filled out. The Medication Administration form, Authorization To Treat form, and Asthma Action Plan form (for inhalers) are all available under the Health Services link on the rpk12.org website.
If your child had their annual physical over the summer, please remember to turn in a copy when the new school year starts.
Please remember that NO PEANUT OR TREE NUT FOODS ARE ALLOWED IN SCHOOL. Because many students have food allergies, please also remind your child that they should not share their meals or snacks with peers.
Make sure your child brings a water bottle to school every day.
Have your child wear sturdy athletic shoes during the school day (please NO flip flops or sandals) to prevent slips, falls, and injuries.
If you have any questions or need any forms sent home in your child's backpack, please call the RES health office at 978-546-1223.
