Note from the Principal
Happy New Year, Carpenter Families!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday break filled with special moments and cherished memories with loved ones. It was such a joy to see the smiles and hear the many stories from our students as they walked through the doors today. Carpenter truly feels like one big family, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you.
As we settle into the new year, I’d like to share a few reminders:
- Please help your child remember to bring warm clothing for outdoor recess. January temperatures can be quite chilly, and we want all students to stay comfortable and prepared for time outside.
- Our school day begins promptly at 8:15 a.m. With winter weather upon us, please allow extra time in the mornings if you’re driving. Arriving on time helps students start their day ready to learn alongside their peers.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Let’s make 2025 a fantastic year together!
Warm Regards,
Mrs. Teresa Bronczyk

The Positivity Project
The Positivity Project - Trait of the Week
This week our school community is focusing on the character strength of Optimism. Optimism means you expect the best from the future and work to achieve it. People with the strength of optimism are future oriented. They have a positive vision of what the future holds and maintain confidence that they will get there. They keep a positive attitude despite setbacks — and often find ways to convert what seems like an obstacle into a stepping-stone to achieve their goals.
To practice and encourage this character strength at home, please visit the Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families. There, you can watch a video, read a quote, and discuss the trait together. When visiting the site, please select your child's grade level and then the trait of the week.
Thank you for your continued support!

Distinguished Dragon Award
Distinguished Dragon Award
Lake Orion Community Schools launched a program in 2023-24 to recognize LOCS staff members for their excellence. The intent of the Distinguished Dragon program is to ensure that staff members who go above and beyond their regular duties are appreciated. The additional effort or support can range from helping an individual to helping a group or any effort that seems worthy of praise.
The staff member can be nominated by a student, parent, community member or a colleague by completing the form at Distinguished Dragon Submission
We ask for the submitter's name and contact information to follow up with specific questions if necessary. Please make sure to select the appropriate school/department form so the message is routed in the proper direction.
Please complete the form entirely so the individual can be appropriately honored for their contributions.
OK2Say
OK2SAY is available state-wide for public and private schools in Michigan; anybody can submit a confidential tip. Specially trained technicians receive the tips and filter the information to the appropriate agency to provide a timely and effective response.
