GMS Weekly News and Notes
Weekly Updates
This Thursday, January 23rd, marks the halfway point of the school year. It is also the end of the second marking term. Teachers will submit grades by January 30th and second term report cards will be available shortly thereafter. Grade 6 World Language Update
On Friday, students in grade 6 will shift to either French or Spanish, depending on which language they had to start the year. Please click on the linked picture to read a special message from Senora Moore and Madame Gvirtsman.
Campus Highlight: Small Intestines, Big Concepts
Students in Mr. Masciarelli's class worked on their "Dialysis Tube" labs. Students investigated what substance their fictional patient ingested, by building and testing model "small intestines". We have a number of future pathologists here I think!
Campus Highlight: Communication is Key
6th Grade Counselor Ms. Doherty led a lesson on developing good communication skills this week. GMS counselors regularly partner with teachers in order to lead sessions aimed at developing social and emotional skills.

GMS Bulldogs of the Week
Congrats to Rae and Thomas. They are tremendous leaders and role models to our younger players and have been contributors to our basketball teams for the last several years. Congrats and keep up the good work.

Bulldog Nurses' Blip
Hello families. The rampant illness this cold and flu season has left us with little time to research fun topics for the SMORE. Instead we will leave you with a poem
We never knew
So many kids could get the flu
COVID who?
He sneezed on my jacket
She coughed on my science packet
The whole family is sick
I wish this was a trick
Please no more fevers or the nurses will call out sick!
We hope your weekend was healthy and restful.
