Dude Be Nice Week
Dude Be Nice Week was a week of kindness, love, fun and appreciation. Around the district our schools did activities to show students and staff what kindness is all about. It was truly a great week and the love could be felt around the district.

America250PA's Keystone Classroom Initiative Visits Riverside Elementary
Last week, Riverside Elementary School welcomed a special visit from America250PA's Keystone Classroom Initiative, an engaging storytelling and visitation program designed for Kindergarten through fourth-grade students. Students were greeted with mascots, members of the organization, and historical reenactors, bringing Pennsylvania's rich history to life in an interactive and exciting way. The visit provided a valuable learning experience, allowing students to connect classroom lessons with real-world history through immersive storytelling and presentations. The students also received t-shirts and swag bags.
RHS is BCIAA Girls basketball Champions!
Coach of the Year Rashida Suber
Congratulations to Reading High School basketball coach, Rashida Suber for being voted the Berks Conference Coach of the Year. Suber, who scored 2,111 points in her career for the Red Knights, led them to their first BCIAA championship since 2010. Congratulations Coach!
All-City Tournament Champions
Congratulations to our Southern Middle School Girls' Basketball team and our Central Middle School Boys' Basketball team for winning the All-City Tournament! We are #RSDproud of you!
BCIAA Diving Championships
On February 1, 2025, RHS Junior CJ Zielinski won the bronze medal at the BCIAA Diving Championship! This automatically qualified him for the District 3 Diving Championships where he finished 14th. Congratulations CJ!

No cash? No problem! We’re excited to announce that Reading School District has teamed up with S2 Pass as our brand-new digital ticketing partner! Save the Date: RHS presents "Guys and Dolls"
The musical production of GUYS AND DOLLS will take place on April 4 and 5 in the Reading High School Auditorium. We welcome all members of the public to attend. Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for students. It's general admission seating. You can purchase tickets in person at the door or in advance online using the link below. Secondary Level AS Family Training Event
We are excited to invite you to our Secondary Level AS Family Training Event on Tuesday, April 2nd, from 5:00–6:30 PM at Reading High School. This event will provide valuable information and resources for families, with the support of community partners.
The event will include free childcare, free dinner, and Spanish translation to ensure accessibility for all families. Representatives from various community resources will be available, including the RHS Transition Coordinator, Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), SAM, social workers, and ASERT.

GIANT Feeding School Kids initiative
Reading School District is proud to be a part of the @GIANT Feeding School Kids initiative! From January 1 – March 31, you can round up at the register to support our school district’s efforts working to eliminate childhood hunger. Through this initiative, RSD and other public school districts can use funds to support meal programs to expand food distribution programs, create oncampus food pantries and gardens, supply extra weekend meals, and eliminate outstanding student meal debt. Join us as we round up to fight hunger within Reading School District
The Knight's Closet
The Reading School District proudly offers a resource called the Knights Closet to help with basic needs. RSD Social Workers assist students and families in accessing essential items like shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, and school supplies. In recent years, we’ve expanded our support to ensure we’re removing barriers for our students.
