Principal's Corner
Greetings Harvey Dunn Families,
Welcome to 2024! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season with family and friends! As we wrap up the first semester of the school year in the days ahead, we reflect on all that has occurred. Teachers created caring classroom communities and built positive relationships with students. Students grew socially and academically, learning inside and outside of the classroom. Our band, orchestra and 5th grade class shared their instrumental and musical talents at their fall performances and our families volunteered to make memorable PTA school events possible. So much to celebrate! We look forward to all that is ahead as we move into the second half of our school year. Looking forward to seeing families at the various events the coming semester, including Parent/Teacher conferences in February. Thank you for your continued partnership to make Harvey Dunn the best place to be!
Kindest regards,
Mrs. Chamberlain, Principal
Teacher Of the Year - Nominations due January 15th
If you would like to show gratitude to a Harvey Dunn Elementary teacher, consider nominating one for the 2024 Teacher of the Year! See the flyer below for more details or click on this LINK to access nomination form and information.
REMINDER!
Now that we have changed into the cold temperatures, please remember to send appropriate gear to school. If your child wants to play in the snow, they must have snow pants and snow boots. All students without these items will only be allowed to play on the black top. Make sure your students have hat and gloves and winter coat. It is also a good idea to have an extra pair of socks and pants packed in their snow gear bag, just incase they get extra wet. We go outside for recess when the temperature is above 0 degrees.

Parking Lot Reminders - Thank you for reviewing and keeping students safe!
Students' safe arrival to and departure from school is a top priority. Please take time to review the reminders below. We are all here for the same reason, the children. When we all follow the guidelines during drop off, you help your child start their day off in a positive and safe manner, as well as the other families around you. Thank you for doing your part to make this process and procedure work.
- Park vehicles in the parking lot and walk students to and from the school using the crosswalks. If you are choosing to drop off students, use the circle drive or north drive.
- Only vehicles with handicap parking permits can park in the handicap spots.
- When pulling up in the circle drive or north drive before or after school remain in your vehicle and move forward as the line moves. This helps keep traffic moving.
- Students exit on the passenger side of the vehicle. In the circle drive, once you are in the student drop-off zone, students exit the vehicle. When more students are exiting the vehicles, we are able to move traffic through more efficiently.
- The north drive might be a faster alternative for morning drop-off when the circle drive is busy. Remain in your vehicle and move forward as the line moves. This helps keep traffic moving.
Breakfast & Lunch
Breakfast begins at 7:30am. Each grade level has a separate lunch time (see schedule).
Lunch money can be deposited into your child’s account by using the MySchoolBuck on-line system. MySchoolBuck App is available on the Apple Store and Google Play.
